"Quiet and welcoming staff, breakfast underwhelms"
I consider this property a good value. My room was quiet and comfortable and although I stayed only 3 nights, I could see a longer stay working well due to the kitchenette and the table/office chair setups(2). I was pleasantly surprised to discover the easy chair was a recliner and very comfortable. Breakfast is included, but at check-in they refer to it as "grab and go." It's very minimal and there's only non-dairy creamer for coffee. There were granola bars and various flavors of instant grits, I guess the presentation could use some more thought. Some fresh fruit would be a good addition.

-suite was HUGE
-TV is real cable, not lame hotel TV
-bed was cozy
-breakfast was good
-staff was kind
-room was dated, with stained sofa and carpet
-garbage truck runs at 5am and it's LOUD
-pool area was too slippery (both my kids fell really hard, just trying to walk)

Stayed her to attend The University of Phoenix graduation at the Scope. The venue was across the road and in walking distance. The staff was very friendly and helpful. This was the first hotel I have ever stayed in that charged me per night to park. The parking wasn't anything special, though it appears to may have been gated at one time.

Set on the world's largest natural harbor, Hampton features the biggest stone fort ever built in the United States: Fort Monroe. The fort contains the Casemate Museum and such historical draws as the cell that held Confederate President Jefferson Davis. Conversely, the Virginia Air and Space Center offers more otherworldly sights, with exhibits of Apollo 12's Command Module and a Mars meteorite.
