While the room was clean the combination of purple and black is depressing. There are no fridges in the rooms and when we asked we were told that we could have one installed "if we really needed it". This should be standard + please get ice buckets that actually hold a bottle of wine when ice is in there!
We chose the hotel based on the advertised pool and gym as I have to do physio in water and weights in the gym daily to avoid pain. The pool was not ready - when I asked about this I was told I "must have checked the wrong website" (no we did not!) and when I explained why I needed the pool they recommended a health centre "that will be fine there is a health centre 5 mins away". This is driving, I do not drive there was no other help offered. Not good customer service! The gym was filthy with builders dust and the door was open to the street- builders and hotel staff walking over the mats and me while I was working out. Awful!
The good points were the breakfast staff were helpful in the loud pink, red and lime green dining space. Housekeeping kept the room clean and were very helpful.

Clean, updated and inviting! We were visiting London for 2 days and this hotel is less than 30 minutes to downtown by train. We really enjoyed the lounge area, I only wish there was a little more shelf space in the room.

Guildford is a hotbed of history, performance art, and culture in southeast England. The final resting place of Lewis Carroll, this Surrey town was home to his family and provided inspiration for the “Alice in Wonderland” author. Outdoor markets draw weekend crowds and a monthly farmers market features the best in local produce. Guided garden and mansion tours are also popular with visitors.
