Positives: Wi-fi worked well; breakfast hours were good; pillows were amazingly comfortable; check-in/out were easy and quick.
Negatives: The staff wouldn't lend us an extra chair (even a folding one or a patio chair); the hot water for tea was kind of brown; there were guests smoking pot at the side door.
I've stayed at this hotel 3 times, and it is generally good value for the price.

Lovely place to stay while taking a 4-day workshop in Guelph. Very quiet. Century home decorated with taste. Everything fresh and clean. Well located - close to downtown and great restaurants, close to my car rental, and minutes to the location where my workshop was held. Only disappointment was not being able to have breakfast there on the weekends because my course started at 9:00 AM. One morning, a big bowl of yogurt berries and a sprinkling of granola was left for me in the fridge. Access to more granola would have been nice. The second morning -- even though arranged in advance -- there was no breakfast left in the fridge for me. Disappointing, since the $145.00 for my room covered the cost of breakfast. But I would stay here again, as long as those kinks were worked out.

Not one but two rivers run through this southwestern Ontario city. Guelph's Royal Recreational Trail brings river-watchers, bicyclists, and walkers along the water and into vibrant downtown squares and streets packed with bistros and bars, galleries and shops. Take in one of many indie rock bands, the summer Jazz Festival, and McCrae House, which honors poet John McCrae of In Flanders Field.
