"Nice hotel very close to beach"
This was our third time staying at this hotel. I highly recommend this hotel to all my friends. Friendly staff and clean hotel all around. Ground maintenance is excellent and you feel like you are staying in the jungle. The drawbacks are the food isn't all that great and the lighting in the rooms is not bright enough. But still an excellent place overall.

"Great location"
Stayed in the adults only section of the resort for 10 days at the beginning of December. Rooms were very nice and clean. Luis, the poolside bartender was a lot of fun! The hotel is within easy walking distance of all the great Tamarindo restaurants. Our favorite was Longboards. They have fantastic breakfast burritos.

"Beautiful little hotel "
Hotel conchal is a beautiful little resort only 10 minute walk too the most amazing beach. Our whole experience at this hotel was lovely. It was very clean and the rooms spacious and comfortable (a/c) There is a great pool and sunning area. The restaurant serves amazing food and drinks. You have an option to pay now or add the meals/ drinks to the room and pay on checkout which is very nice and has all inclusive feel. Most importantly the staff was extremely kind and helpful. I will definitely return.

Hotel Capitán Suizo

"Perfect spot in Tamarindo"
This hotel was perfectly located just a few minutes from the busy downtown, but had it's own beach and even surfable water right in front of hotel. It was easily the best hotel we found in the area that was on the beach. rooms and beds were awesome. Great staff. We will always stay here if we come back. You are far enough from the downtown area where you may want to rent a golf cart for the week. ( bout 15 minute walk into main strip ). don't rent a car unless you are planning to travel to other areas a lot. Golf carts are so much easier for parking etc.

RipJack Inn

100m al sur de Minae, Playa Grande - Map
"Nice place to go for a quiet vacation."
Rip Jack was a nice, cleanly place to stay while in Playa Grande. It caters to the surfer and naturalist community, while creating a family friendly atmosphere. Surrounded by nature, and only 100 yards or so from the beach, you will find plenty of tranquil spaces to be alone. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We looked forward to seeing Eric (restaurant waiter) each day for Happy Hour. The one down side (and reason for the 3.5 rating) is that our room was under the restaurant. Around 9:30-10:00 each night, we got to hear the clatter and banging of pots, pans, dishes, as well as the constant swoosh sound from a water hose as they cleaned the kitchen. I have a feeling if we had been in a different room, the overall rating would have been higher. People also would sit at the table outside our at night, which really didn't disturb us, except that they would leave a mess that was there the next morning. I'm not sure what could be done to reduce the sound issue. Perhaps an acoustic ceiling for that room would help some. Still, we would go back (and ask for a different room.)

"very helpful staff"
I fell down on the second day while walking to the reception area. It was a bad fall as the path was very steep and I could not control my speed. Two of the staff members saw me on the ground and immediately ran to assist me. They provided dressing supplies and drove me to the nearest doctor's office. They stayed with me for two hours and got me back to the resort. Every staff member was very helpful and we are very thankful.

Guanacaste is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Guanacaste, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Guanacaste hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
