"FANTASTIC VIEWS OF TAXCO WITH LOTS OF CHARM"
The Posada de la MIsion is a quaint and charming hotel which was once part of an old mission. It overlooks the hill town of Taxco and offers fantastic views from the rooms, pool deck and restaurant. Taxco reminds me of the hill town of Tuscany in Italy. The hotel is described as within walking distance of the Zocolo and Cathedral in the center of Taxco but in reality you really need a car or taxi to get there unless you enjoy lots of walking over uneven cobblestone streets. The hotel is just off Highway 95 in a rather unattractive part of Taxco and unless you eat in the hotel restaurant for all meals, it is necessary to go into the center of town to find a descent restaurant since the ones within walking distance are not recommended. We greatly enjoyed the refreshing large swimming pool with great views since most of the hotels in the center of town have little or no views and no pools. The hotel's restaurant was very attractive with great views of the town and better than average food. We ate breakfast each morning on the terrace which was very enjoyable. There is a limited but appetizing array of items on the menu and the wait staff was most helpful and accommodating.

"Lovely Hotel"
This is my second time staying at the Casa del Laurel. When I planned my return trip to Taxco, I thought "why bother looking at any other place?" Front desk reception was very friendly and helpful (the last trip in 2014 one guy was kinda cranky....). Hot water for tea and instant coffee was always available. Our room was spacious and very comfortable, at check in we were given the choice of a King bed or two doubles, and this trip we selected the two doubles. Beds were very comfortable, and linens and pillows were very good. Bathroom was great and there was lots of hot water always. Windows open (I love fresh air) but can close tightly to block almost all street noise, and are secure and safe. Beautiful view from the rooftop. I love this location. Only a short walk to the centre square or a short downhill to one of the bus stations. As streets can be steep in Taxco, there are plenty of VW taxis circling around and it is very inexpensive to take trips in them if you don't want to do the climbs yourself. Taxco is quite magical at night. Thanks Casa del Laurel, I hope to visit you again.

"Incredible Views from this place"
There is not a single thing to complain. The views from this hotel are amazing. The restaurant is to recommend. The little shop offers nice souvenirs and silver ware. No need to get ripped in downtown. When leaving they put water bottles in our car for the trip back to Mexico City. Very nice little detail.

"Awesome location and staff"
A would be great experience if management invests in maintaining and updating amenities (particularly the pool area). Thankfully the staff especially Liz at the front desk make up for a decent stay, everyone is really nice and helpful, other reason to stay is the fact that they let you use the resort (Montetaxco) next to the villas amenities' such as pool. restaurants, golf etc,,,highly recommend their breakfast very good food, awesome views and great prices.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
