I rarely feel the need to post online reviews to comment on a hotel. In the case of Le Grand Hotel, though, I felt I had to. This place has been an absolute gem of a find since my dad took ill skiing two weeks ago. It is a hugely convenient and lovely hotel in the very heart of old Grenoble (with convenient valet parking). I flew out here to get my mum settled in a comfortable base while dad was being treated at La Tronche hospital. Tram is on the doorstep as are all the restaurants and sights of the town itself. The accommodation and location are excellent. What sets it apart, though, is the staff. They have been so sensitive to my mum's situation and so very helpful with every little request. Special thanks to Paul, who had been so responsive to every question and query. My mum feels so comfortable here and everyone is incredibly friendly. I very much intend to come back with my wife and kids to show them the city and I fully expect my mum and dad to check back into the Grand Hotel in the future once he's well enough to do so.

As northamericain, we were surprised by the size of the room as we are so used to large spaces. This hotel provides you with small room but very well organized. The rest however is what make your stay an enjoyable one. Very clean with lots of convenient free services like access to computer, printer, beverages, breakfast, snaks or cocktail in the lounge area.

A lovely, old hotel in a lovely old area around Grenoble. The staff were very welcoming and inclusive to our 4 member non-french speaking staff. The meals we had were terrific, dinner was in the top 5 meals of our 3 week European stay. Lovely bathrooms. Bedroom looked a little worn, yet our sleep was terrific and the bed linens were very nice. The rooms were impeccably clean.
We did not use the pool due to our short stay but I would not hesitate to do so. Nor would I hesitate to revisit them and bring friends and family.

Hotel was good, clean, cheap and centrally located. Staff advised well and helped us print things. Only down side was that we couldn't get the Wi-Fi working, but I didn't look into it too hard and the price/value was really good for the room. Well stocked kitchen.

We were spending Thanksgiving in Grenoble visiting our son who is studying at GIM. The hotel was located near the school, trolley stop, and downtown. Comfortable suite for my husband, daughter, and me. Beautiful views of the mountians from the balcony. Easy access to everything. Would stay again.

The largest city in southern France with 160,000 people, Grenoble is surrounded by the Alps. Though small, the Musée de Grenoble has some impressive works, including four Picassos, one Miro, one Kandinsky, and one Andy Warhol. The Musée de la Resistance et de la deportation de l'Isere is worth a visit for its informative exhibition about World War II.
