"Nice comfortable hotel"
Staff very accommodating and friendly. Helped us book dinner reservations at a top-notch restaurant nearby. Hotel restaurant has very good food. Daily breakfast (which was included in our hotel rate) was also excellent. Rooms are nicely appointed but not very functional. Rooms are done in a minimalist and modern art style which is great for younger guests. For older guests like me (with decreased mobility), tub was difficult to get in and out of. Shower is in a square shape and a bit small for larger guests. Spa has extensive facilities. Water in Vitality Pool was a bit cool. Otherwise, very good hotel for a stay in Glasgow near the main shopping area. Best feature of hotel is their staff; very helpful and welcoming.

"A break in Glasgow"
We booked two nights, with one dinner reservation, to take a couple of days away from the Scottish Borders at a time when we were not able to travel much. We therefore wanted a special hotel and dining experience. Malmaison looked architecturally interesting, though this is a bit of an illusion as only a small part has real character. The location is just a little further from walkable city centre spots of merit and the roads in Glasgow are a satnav nightmare due to endless works and changes, but we survived. Despite being midsummer, the hotel was extremely quiet and on the Saturday night we seemed to be one of only three tables dining. The bar was not busy either. Parking was no issue over the weekend, within yards of the hotel, and in fact it feels like a law and financial district which becomes a ghost town out of working hours. On the second night, we asked reception if there were any good pizza/Italian restaurants nearby, and were directed a fair walk to one which had clearly been closed down for some time. Fortunately we found a highly rated one (Gusto) which was half the distance and would have been a better recommendation. Overall it seemed we were in a rather expensive business hotel where you could impress a client, which has failed to become trendy as it's just not in the right place for any kind of 'passing trade' unlike the many places we know in Edinburgh.

I stayed at this hotel because of accessibility to the airport. There was a free shuttle bus available between the hotel and the Glasgow airport and it took only 5 min; therefore, it would be quite convenient for people who have flight early in the morning.

"Lovely stay just outside of Glasgow"
We stayed here during our trip between Inverness and the Lake District, and it was ideally located just outside of Glasgow. The hotel provided a complimentary upgrade to a huge suite due to the fact that we were on our honeymoon, and it was very clean and comfortable. The hotel could benefit from updating the decor, as it is starting to show it's age, however it was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we've seen, providing a full Scottish fry up, as well as a wide selection of cereals, fruits, yoghurts, cold meats, cheeses, and juices. Lovely food.

"Glasgow city hotel in good location"
This hotel is well situated on Great Western Road a few minutes walk from the West End of Glasgow next to Binghams pond. We walked to Byres Road where there is interesting shops, many restaurants and pubs for great entertainment. Our main reason for the visit was to attend the Open golf at Royal Troon and there was great accessability to this by rail from Hyndland station a 10 minute walk from the hotel ant the total journey took an hour or by car the journey took 40 minutes. The hotel offered good value with no frills, was comfortable and the staff were very helpful.

"Very nice hotel"
We very much enjoyed our stay. The hotel staff was excellent. They were always courteous and helped with whatever we needed. The spa was adequate and the tea/massage was a great experience. Our room was clean and ready to go every time we returned from our day out. I would caution anyone that is a light sleeper to make sure you ask for a room that is not located next to the elevator as it is a bit noisy. We recommend this hotel.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
