I really liked this motel. It's typical of resort areas - not a cookie cutter and has charm. The room was pleasant and clean. Bathroom not so large but what you need. The clerk at the desk was very helpful in finding breakfast spots that would be open in the off season. I only was staying the night, but if I ever.go back to this area, I would gladly stay here a week.

we had a difficult time finding the front of the hotel, but it was worthwhile when we finally did! the odd experience i had was with the gentleman checking us in. we arrived after check in time, but the room wasn't ready. i asked for any room, not necessarily 2 beds, and again, there was nothing ready. we came back an hour later, and it still wasn't ready. went to eat, came back and they still had difficulty finding a room ready for us. but they did. i'm still not sure what the hold up was - but it did keep us from doing the ghost tour, which was one of the main reasons i wanted to stay at the stanley. they had day tours every hour or so, but the night tours were sold out. oh well. next time!

Easy check in and check out. Location was perfect. Room was nice with fridge and microwave, which was nice. My only negative was the water pressure in the shower. It barely trickled out, and I was freezing during my shower as I was unable to stand under it. There was absolutely no way I could wash my long hair. I would've been trying to rinse for an hour. After a long cold day of snowmobiling I was disappointed by this. Everything else was just fine.

Beds a little hard but we slept well. Cleanliness excellent. Staff very friendly in the am, a little stiffer when checking in. Very disappointed with the shower, so little water (water efficient shower head). I travel frequently and rate hotels on their shower, bed linens and beds and cleanliness. This hotel would rate a 9 out of 10 except for the shower.

We truly enjoyed our stay- we visit the Estes Park Area often and try to choose new places to try- This is a very calm and comfortable place to stay up in the hills. The drive to town is short. The lobby is warm and inviting especially with the giant fireplace and comfy leather sofas. Sipping tea by a roaring fire was very relaxing.,
Our room was clean, and comfortable we had a great view of the mountains. The bed was very cozy.
Overall a very nice place to stay- we mainly just wanted a place to unwind and relax in which we did - but they offer activities that seem fun and relaxing.

The Inn was comfortable, clean and affordable. The reason for travel to the area was for hiking, climbing and to visit the Stanley Hotel. The Alpine Trail Ridge Inn was close and convenient to all of the area activities. The staff was courteous and extremely helpful with local recommendations for restaurants and places of interest.

This hotel has the perfect location if you are visiting Rocky Mountain National Park. Easy to find, comfortable clean modern rooms. Refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. Note that some rooms have an interior entry door and some an exterior door. Good variety of free breakfast options are served. Hot tub was closed for renovation. For great "what to do" advice, look for Susie near the breakfast area. She will help you plan your day and map it out for you, very helpful!

We stayed at this inn for six nights and enjoyed the stay. All the usual things, such as the room, room were fine. The things that were not obvious made our stay more enjoyable. For Example: Roger, innkeeper, was great. One evening he made us a fire in the pit outside the inn. We sat around, enjoyed a glass of wine, and had a great evening. He also made a nice breakfast every morning. Our plane arrived early, so he allowed us to check in sooner than the regular time. etc.
Also the inn was on the west side of Estes Park. That meant we did not have to drive through town every time we went to the park. Over the course of the week that made a difference.

The town of Grand Lake is the westernmost entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. The now-closed Grand Lake Lodge was a notable landmark in town, boasting a spectacular view of the lake of the same name, as well as frequent wildlife sightings.
