"Nice hotel walking distance from st Marcus "
Our stay was very nice, good breakfast, nicely decorated and clean room, friendly staff. This hotel is in walking distance to the main stations and to st Marcus square. The only one minus is a very hard bed and pillows.

"Lovely hotel in a great location"
My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 4 nights to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. We have never visited Venice before and found this hotel charming. Our room overlooked the courtyard rather than a canal. We were situated on the third (top) floor which took some climbing as there are no lifts. The room was typical venetian in style with enough space for our clothing. The bathroom was small but clean with hairdryer and shower over the bath. The shower was powerful and hot. There was a tv and fridge in the room but no tea/coffee facilities. The breakfast was continental including bacon, scrambled egg and sausage. Lovely breakfast room with a view and kept tidy and food replenished quickly. The reception staff were very efficient and polite. From the airport we arrived by water taxi which dropped us at the hotels jetty. There is a bar in the hotel which we didn't use. Upon leaving the hotel we were afraid that we would not be able to find our way back but this was not the case as it is well signposted. The nearest Vaperetto stop is Rialto Mercato approx. 2 mins walk. This take you around Venice. Approx 20 min walk to St Marks Sq. It's an easy walk meandering around shops.

NH Collection Venezia Palazzo Barocci

San Marco. Corte dell'Albero 3878/A, Venice - Map
"Good hotel in great location"
Great first trip to Venice for a five night break. Good hotel with friendly, helpful staff and excellent buffet breakfast. Room facilities were good but room a little on the small side. Hotel is very close to main tourist area such as Rialto Bridge and San Marco Square. Waterbus stops right outside the hotel which makes getting around, especially with luggage, much easier. Would recommend this hotel for a short stay in Venice.

"Nice hotel - close but not too close"
Nice small hotel located on the south side of the grand canal next to the Academia museum. We took a water taxi from the airport which was able to drop us off maybe a 100 yards from the hotel. The Durodosia area is close enough to be able to easily reach all of the usual tourist spots in 10-15 minutes, but is out of the mainstream. Area was quiet at night with a number of good restaurants used by both the locals and tourists. Hotel was small, but nice and neat. We had a small suite, which had plenty of room, and quite a nice bed. Room actually had two bathrooms which was nice in the mornings. Elevator was incredibly small and slow, so we normally just used the stairs. Even though small, they served a very good breakfast which made for a nice start to the day.

The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Venice

Campo Santa Maria Del Giglio O Zobenigo, Venice - Map
"Venetian luxury and service"
The Gritti Palace belies its name and, from the moment we stepped on to its private dock from our water taxi on the Grand Canal, we were given truly personal and exquisite service. The occasion was our 25th wedding anniversary and our last visit had been for our 10th. We were met by Carlotta, who was superb. She made us feel genuinely special, took us personally to our room where she had arranged roses, chocolates and prosecco and even managed to upgrade us on our last night to a magnificent room overlooking the Grand Canal. The Gritti Palace is not cheap, but for a special occasion it is just the ticket and offers sumptuous luxury and elegance Venetian-style and service that is second to none. Thanks, Carlotta: you made a memorable occasion into an unforgettable one.

"Nice hotel but..."
This was my second time staying at this hotel. It is located right next to the Santa Lucia Train station. Overall very good location. However staff wasn't friendly as they were before. The building is very old like many other in Venice, but I think this one needs a serious maintainence.

Locanda Armizo

"Great Location"
This is a basic small inn (locanda) with only 6 rooms. It is very convenient to the Vaporetti and Rialto Market. The breakfast was delicious pastries and spreads (no proteins) along with a small pot of fresh coffee and milk by request. It had free internet and one staff member even loaned me an adapter to plug in my laptop. It's an older building with a hard floor that was less than spotless. I recommend wearing some type of shoes around the room and watch for crawling roommates (nothing too alarming, just a spider or two). The bathroom was large with a small standing shower. I also recommend agreeing to the inventory of the minibar when you check in. I was charged for a bottle of water I did not drink. I would absolutely stay there again for the location alone.

Grand Canal is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Grand Canal, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Grand Canal hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
