"Convenient to train station!"
Overall this was a pleasant stay. Our view out the window was of service equipment and due to the time of year traveled, we could not turn on the air so at night the room became extremely stuffy. Staff was pleasant. Excellent eateries if you get off the main road and explore. Easy to explore if you like to walk but also near metro.

"Bring your earplugs!!!!"
Very pleased with quick and early check-in also got late check-out. Very central hotel. You can walk or commute to anywhere easily. Even walked to the train station with my luggage. Stayed in superior room. Big, comfy and clean room. Only problem was with the soundproofing. Outside noises blocked perfectly but you can literally hear everything coming from upstairs and side neighbors. Bring your earplugs!!!!

"Reasonable apartment at reasonable cost"
We got the three bedroom apartment. It had limited air-conditioning that was challenging in the summer heat. They tried to assist with extra fan and covering windows which made it a bit dark and gloomy. Other guests with smaller apartments were fine. Staff was helpful and location was close to attractions.

"Across the street from the Prado"
The hotel has a very interesting past as depicted in the bar/lounge. When entering the lobby it looks nice but not wow as I expect from a 5 star hotel. Check in process is fast and the staff we encountered during our stay were all very nice. The rooms however need to be made over. Wallpaper should be replaced along with carpeting. Westins are well known for their beds and sheets - our bed cover sheet had a few small holes in it and the mattress should be replaced. The rooms are spacious though. Judging from the other guests we saw there, this is definitely a hotel used by guests conducting business in Madrid. And a general comment for all hotels - get rid of bath tubs and just put in large showers. I don't know anybody that goes to a hotel to take a bath....

"Nice Budget Hotel Close to Reina Sofia Museum"
The hotel looks brand new and has fun decor. The room we had was really small but economical with space. There was a shelf and a coat rack. I'm not sure where you would fit a big suitcase in there. Luckily we just had back packs with us. The bathroom has a frosted glass door so not a lot of privacy. The shower is pretty spacious and has excellent water pressure from a rainfall shower head. You have to pay €1 each time you lock the room safe so we didn't bother. We found the location to be very convenient being close to the Art museums, Retiro park and about a 25 minute walk from the centre of the city. The staff helped us with all of our questions. When we checked out we got charged €5 for something at the bar but they didn't make us pay it when we explained that we didn't get anything from the bar.

"Very comfortable hotel near major museums"
The Hostal Bruna is a really comfortable hotel--very clean, roomy and truly within walking distance of the Prado, Reina Sofia and the Thyssen-Bornemisza museums. The La Plater, across the street, is not only a convenient place to eat, but excellent food (and staff) as well.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
