The hotel was very nice and the location was perfect. We loved the view, but didn’t love all of the street noise that came with it. Overall it was a very nice place to stay and the breakfast was very good.

"Right across the street from the airport"
I have stood at Sofitel before. I stay here for convenience because it's right across the street from the airport. This stay was better than my last. Staff was more accommodating and pleasant in comparison to two weeks ago. Breakfast is good. Would stay again if in Athens.

"Well located and good amenities in Athens, Greece"
We had to find a hotel on short notice for one night and had stayed here before with a tour group I had led, so this was a good option. Located just southeast of the Acropolis and within walking distance of the Plaka. Good restaurant with a great view of the Acropolis on the top floor. Staff was polite and helpful, even ensuring that we had a taxi waiting at 4:30 am to take us to the airport (that's another story). Room was spacious and nicely appointed. European bathrooms and hotel rooms can have some oddities and this was no exception, but the toiletries and towels were good. TV channels quite limited and a small TV. Overall, unless you want to live in your hotel room (which is not why most of us come to Athens on vacation), this hotel is a pleasant, clean, up to date hotel. The price was a good value.

The hotel is nicely lovated in a quiet neighbourhood but only a short walk away from major attractions. It’s a bit dated but more than compensated for by friendly and helpful staff.

"Excellent service and staff."
I booked this hotel on proximity to the end of the Athens Marathon and was just looking for a comfortable room. What transpired was beyond what one would expect. The organisers of the marathon sent out emails detailing where and when you could collect race numbers after I had booked my travel, without which one could not run. Unfortunately, I was due to arrive in Athens 30 minutes after the registration event closed. Faced with months of training and considerable travel expense, I contacted the hotel asking if they could act as my proxy and collect this stuff about 8km away, and how much this would cost. The hotel staff replied saying they were happy to do this and there would be no charge. My flight was delayed and I arrived in Athens two hours after the event closed to find my race number already in my room. So grateful. On top of this, breakfast starts at 0700 usually, but as there were 4 guests running the marathon, they brought this forward to 5am to allow us to have breakfast before getting transport to the start at 6am. This was a full breakfast service, with whatever one would want. This hotel wasn't expensive, and I certainly wasn't expecting this level of service, but the attitude of the staff and the service they offer, is compatible with the very highest end of the market. The staff were always smiling and so helpful and are simply a credit to the owners and management of this hotel. Ellia and Eleni were especially helpful.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
