The castle hotel is lovely, but -- as others have indicated -- it is rather overpriced. Having breakfast included helped, but at these prices I would think afternoon tea and dinner would also be included. Probably only worth it for someone with means or a really big splurge. I'm glad we stayed here, but was only able to balance out the steep cost by staying for next to nothing at other places on the trip.

"Lovely location. "
Good hotel in a beautiful location, with very pleasant staff and good food. Only blip was that room was not prepared as twin when we arrived. While this was rectified we did wind up with two basic single beds. General comment - not specific to this hotel, but we wonder why hotels provide so few twin rooms and also so rarely provide twin rooms with decent sized beds?

"Great view and location "
We had a beautiful view of the river from our room. Building is beautiful. Rooms were just a little tired but clean. Lots of nice sitting areas on the main floor. Super handy to the rail system and downtown area. Cannot get wifi in the rooms without paying was the downside, but was free in the common areas.

"Great B&B!"
The Westhaven was a fantastic stay. The owners made us feel extremely welcomed, and provided a lot of useful information. The location is close enough to Fort William town, (two minute drive?) but far enough away for quiet. Beds comfy, breakfast delicious, great spot to explore!

"Stayed as a solo female traveller, hotel great!"
3 night stay, hotel had great rooms, staff and gorgeous food. As I was on my own, felt little self conscious in restaurant but staff put me at ease and happily sat there reading book and enjoying the evening. Restaurant got busy on Friday and Saturday so book a table earlier in the day if planning to eat in.

"Breath taking location"
From the moment we arrived I was so glad that I'd booked a stop over. I had no expectations of the area, I was so wrong. Beautiful views in every direction, lots of walks to be taken, berries to be picked and eaten and friendly people to say hello to. The food was delicious too.

"Good for Fort William and Ben Nevis"
This hotel was one of the few in Fort William (through Expedia) to have a vacancy for the time we wanted to be there, and I feel it was very expensive for a two star hotel. We were in the section away from the main hotel; this is being refurbished and it needs it, although our rooms were clean, well equipped, and had everything we needed. Breakfast was very good with a wide variety of hot and cold items on the buffet bar. The hotel is a good 20 minute walk away from Fort William, but caters for walkers and hill climbers, so they would not be concerned at that.

Decent hotel for the price. It's a bit old and dated, but clean. There is also a complimentary and surprisingly awesome breakfast which I really enjoyed. However, the only downside is that there is only wifi in the Hotel lobby/common areas.
