"Joined to the central train station - very handy"
Only needed to walk over to the corner entrance of the hotel set within the train station. Easy! We arrived early and asked if our cases could be kept, but the room was available to check in to. Our deluxe family room was on the 3rd floor - the hotel is huge with extremely long corridors but there is a double lift albeit it's slow. Unfortunately the room faced out onto the 'greenhouse roof tops' of the train station so nothing to see. Some of the rooms further along the corridor did face over the actual centre of the station. The room was large with a separate hallway and door to section off the bathroom and living area. Clean on the whole but dust on skirting boards. Very high ceilings and high old single glazed sash windows with black out roller blinds. We were surprised at how little sound came from the train station. Modern decor in black and silver colours with high padded headboard, reasonably comfy bed made of 2 singles pushed together, and a sofa bed. Matching black furniture - plenty of cupboard space and drawers. Safe in room, iron & board, slippers and gowns, no fridge though. Tea and coffee facilities. The key card was needed for the electricity/lighting. Plenty of wall lamps and a standard lamp. Main light not working. Toiletries provided, sturdy bath, nice shower, very roomy bathroom. Very handy being central to everything. Staff very polite and helpful and housekeeping were prompt. We ate elsewhere but buffet breakfast is £12 guest rate £16 usual rate.

"Great stay - just train all your staff to be nice!"
Had an overnight Sunday stay. Fabulous room and great service - all staff were really friendly and helpful throughout. Spa was lovely and the breakfast cooked by Chef Matthews was good. Only improvement- one staff member/ manager who was a little grumpy at breakfast when I asked if she could take our order...Be nice to your guests Blythswood!

Stayed with my three children for two nights at half term. Room was clean, but a little tired (not enough to be upset about, but was needing some maintenance). Breakfast good - kids enjoyed! Changing facilities for swimming pool and gym were a little cramped and definitely in need of some refurbishment, although they were clean.
Overall, good value for money, reasonably located (although not city centre, good for SECC), and comfortable rooms.

Long an important industrial centre and port, modern Glasgow is one of Britain’s most vibrant cultural cities. The centre features outstanding Victorian architecture and houses over 20 galleries and museums, several boasting world-class collections, and many graced by the works of Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Performing arts venues stage the best acts outside London, with shops (Merchant Square, Buchanan Street, Barras Market) and restaurants to match.
