Very close to the centre, lots of sights and amenities within walking distance. Short ride on the tram from Ghent St Pieter's station.
Room was good size, with high ceilings. View of the road outside, but window was high so you couldn't really see out of it anyway. Good base for exploring. Can easily hear people in other rooms and the maids, but this wasn't a big deal.
Bed was king size and comfy. Shower over bath, easy to get a good temperature.
Staff were helpful and friendly. Was able to leave luggage in the hotel as we arrived a lot earlier than the 3pm check-in. The check-in seems to be a strict 3pm. Was also able to leave luggage after the 11am check-out.
Overall was a pleasant hotel, in a good location. Would recommend.

Easy to find, easy to park. Staff were very helpful and friendly, a really nice welcome to Ghent. The room was clean and the bed, comfortable. The only downside were the mosquitoes - evidently, other guests had been bothered by them, judging by the squished remains on the walls. We awoke with several bites. Other than that, would highly recommend the Hotel. There are hire bikes on site and a tram stop close by for getting into the centre of Ghent.

"Nice modern hotel within walking distance of it al"
This hotel is very modern and quite luxury for Belgium and Europe in general. It reminds me a lot of the Marriot's I have stayed in the USA. The staff was nice, and the ammenities were nice as well albeit quite pricey. The room was not to expensive but the breakfast was 22 euro, way over priced if you ask me.

Living abroad, we usually travel back to Ghent a few times per year. Hotel Verhaegen was an amazing find for our new home away from home. The 'house' is truly unique in the historical sense, interior design sense combined with a homely environment. The staff are very welcoming and clearly have a very high standard of service. We will certainly go again, next we go home!

The reception staff were all lovely and so helpful. Plenty of choice at breakfast, the room and bathroom were fine - and spotlessly clean - only loses comfort points because we never quite got the hang of the heating but that's our fault not theirs as I'm sure it would have been explained if we'd asked.

The heart and soul of Ghent is the picture-perfect, car-free Old Town. Tour boats ply the Lys River, with the medieval guild houses of Graslei and Korenlei streets casting their reflections upon the placid waters. St. Bavo's Cathedral houses the magnificent Lamb of God altarpiece, painted by the van Eyck brothers in the 1400s. The Gravensteen Castle, built in the 1100s, is another must-see.
