"Nice hotel, a 10 minute bus ride to Princes Street"
We wanted to stay outside of the city centre to avoid too much noise from the Edinburgh Festival activities and this hotel enabled us to do this. If we return to Edinburgh we will consider staying closer to the city centre as there is little to do in the vicinity of this hotel apart from visiting a Morrison's supermarket across the road.

"Beautiful historic building with modern update"
Stunning historic building in great central location. Rooms recently updated with modern amenities, however have retained old world charm with the decor. Beds and linens were incredibly comfortable. Highly recommend!

"Lovely apartment right in the heart of the city"
Our apartment was lovely, just like the photos on the website, there were a couple of minor issues, hot water kept going cold (husband fixed pressure on boiler) plug missing from sink, shower screen leaked water over floor, But these were really minor. Apartment had everything you needed, it was comfortable clean, had a good supply of tea coffee sugar even hot chocolate and a bix of short bread biscuits. We order a mobility scooter for my mother which was in our room on arrival. Amazing stay would definitely recommend and return.

"Great location! Highly recommend."
We stayed in the La Familia Studio. The room was large and accommodating. Note: the shower and tub are essentially in the room (visible from the bed and seating area) - not a problem as it was two of us staying in the room - we found it romantic. The staff was friendly and attentive. Our stay (booked through Expedia) included breakfast (from the full breakfast menu) and it did not disappoint. The location was perfect for exploring old town Edinburgh and seeing Fringe Festival shows. Walking distance to Royal Mile, Cockburn Street, Edinburgh Castle, Grass Market, etc. If visiting during the Fringe Festival and The Royal Edinburgh Miltary Tattoo (which you should see if you can), expect significant crowds everywhere. I am guessing that the city is much quieter and peaceful when those two events are not happening.

Holyrood Aparthotel

"Good size but lack of informatio"
The room has a large bedroom with a seperate kitchen and bathroom so plenty of room. The kitchen has basic supplies, and includes a dishwasher and microwave. There is a combined washer/dryer in the room which was very handy - however - the lack of information on how to use the machine was very frustrating. Only a few pages of the instructions were included so you basically had to guess how to use it - which had negative repercussions for us! The location is at the bottom of the Royal Mile (Hollyrood end) which is not perfectly central but ok if you don't mind walking (20 mins to the other end) . There is a Tesco around the corner to pick up supplies. Arthur's Seat is also very close - great for a walk on a fine day

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in George Street, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your George Street hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
