Much of it is updated except oddly enough for the carpet, paint, and beds. The bed was comfortable but I could feel the springs.
Food options were solid for an exurb of Charlotte: Texas Road House, Waffle House, and of course Bo Time at Bojangles.

The room was cozy and rather cheap for the price booked however, the window was letting in a cold draft. The heater also had a strange smell perhaps it hasn't been used in a while. The mattress was really comfortable and so was the chair. Tv offered decent channels. Only big bummer was the fact that the pool was getting renovated. I wish i was told that earlier b.c i really wanted to jump in.

The drive from the airport was fast & easy to find ! Our airplane from DFW did not land until 1am, thankfully we had prepaid our motel stay and the nice woman who worked there woke up at 2am to give us a room key. IHOP was nearby this motel and it had great service. The waitress who served our table gave us great ideas on sight seeing. We did not have the time to do as much sight seeing on the way to our wedding destination in Bryson City. The people in Gastonia are so kind, & shared generous hospitality, friendliness & smiles.

Gastonia is a small city with big attractions, such as the world’s largest flying American flag. Many visitors come to Gastonia to see nature, be it at the Schiele Museum of Natural History or the cliffs at Crowders Mountain State Park. In nearby Belmont, the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden encompasses 450 acres. A highlight is its orchid conservatory, one of the largest in America.
