We used Gananoque as a stop over between the Quebec Eastern Townships and Toronto, and we are glad we did. Arriving at the dinner hour and leaving shortly after breakfast our experience was short but nevertheless lovely. John and Stephen were wonderful friendly hosts and the Inn was very charming. Our room was not in the Inn proper but rather in what they called the Garden Suite. We had both dinner and breakfast in the beautifully decorated dining room. The Inn is a refurbished old manor with a very interesting and long history. Decorated with a sense of pride and with care to preserve the manor flavour the Innkeepers have attended to everything from the gardens out front, the charm of the dining room to the wonderful bedding and pillows.

The motel was easy to find, the staff, especially Jenny at the check-in desk was very nice and friendly,
the room was smaller then we expected but ok.
I liked it that the car was right outside our door cause we needed it often to get around.

My husband & our friend stayed at Seaway for two nights while in town for a wedding. The location is great; quick walking distance to the water & downtown - perfect for a morning run to start the day!
My first impression walking in the door was that it was the cutest place I had ever seen - from the original interior decor, to the textured wallpaper, to the perfectly kitschy salt & pepper shakers at breakfast, it really highlighted the fact that this isn't a generic hotel.
Colin & Peter are the most gracious hosts. They knew us by name from day one, made us feel right at home, and filled our tummies with the most delicious breakfasts.
Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable, with large windows for natural sunlight & an AC unit.
This was our first ever stay at a B&B and we could not have asked for a better experience. If we ever find ourselves in Gananoque again, we will without a doubt be knocking on the door at Seaway Manor!

So the place is old but it was clean and somewhat comfortable. It was down the street from a casino and is right in the 1000 islands region of Canada. The free breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs and sausage. Toast, fruit, muffins and cereal are also available. Just get there early to get a better selection of fruits. The tour bus group got in their early and left just a few pieces of fruit but they were bringing out fresh scrambled eggs which were real and not the powdered variety. They had redone the bathroom of our room and the beds were comfortable. It had a balcony to sit out on but the view of the Tim Hortons was what we had so it left something to be desired.
Would I say there again? Yeah, it wasn't the worst and not the greatest but the price was right and we did get a good night sleep. for a little excitement there is a casino just minutes away and plenty of restaurants around and the finger lakes and the US border are less than a half hour away.

Hotel is fine but be aware that prepaid reservations are not actually prepaid here. Instead of charging you immediately they do it when you actually stay which is irritating if it's a business booking using a corporate card and you want to use a personal card for incidentals. Also the information packets in the room state breakfast ends at 10 but breakfast actually ends at 9:30 and the staff was fairly surly when we and several other guests showed up at 9:45 looking for breakfast. It's very conveniently located and the rooms are clean and updated for what the rate was.
