The hotel is within close walking distance to attractive park, restaurants, coffee houses, waterfront and market. This was our first visit to Fremantle and we were impressed with the attractions of this area within walking distance of our Hotel. The Esplanade Hotel proved to be a very good choice and we would certainly stay again when we return to Fremantle.

The blurb said this hotel was close to everything, but it's really not close to anything and you need a car. Both staff members that we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. We arrived early and our luggage was stored and put into our room. Room was very comfortable and clean and had everything.

This hotel is well located, just a block from the free Cat bus. The rooms are tiny but well appointed with large bathroom. The included breakfast was good in a very patio area. There is no elevator so if you do not want to carry bags up stairs I suggest that you request a many floor room.

The Bad: Place to Check-in closed for Easter. Stranger had to help us get ahold of owner for key to room. Two nights of road construction with jack hammers outside window. No wifi.
The Good: Great location for prenight cruise passengers. Two block walk to pier. Beautiful bathroom, large room with small fridge and table. Daily maid service unexpected for apt stay. Very convenient to free shuttle service around Freemantle.

Located 15 km (9 miles) southwest of the city centre, Freo (as the locals refer to it) is one of Perth's top attractions. Wander through its impressively restored historic warehouses and prison dating from the convict era, as well as its Edwardian streets and shopping precinct. Good museums, street markets, bustling working docks, energetic nightlife and a great variety of restaurants are other attractions, while in summer the beaches benefit from the 'Fremantle Doctor', a pleasantly cooling breeze.
