My second time staying at the Salisbury for a weekend friends getaway. The hotel and rooms are tired and dated. The bathroom really needs some attention. However, It was kept clean, plenty of space for 2 people and luggage compared to some other cramped NYC hotels I've stayed in. If you just need a spot to drop your bags and sleep while you expore manhatten, this is is the spot.
It's on a busy street but that didn't bother me after the first night. There is a little breakfast spot next door, Starbucks, and a market across the stree and a Duane Reade on the corner. Subway is close by.

The hotel is in a great location - close to theaters and times square. The rooms are small but clean. Air conditioning worked well. Not much of a view. Construction was going on in the room next to us but never started before 9am. The hotel staff were fantastic and there was free wine for happy hour every day. Added bonus having a mini fridge and microwave. We would stay there again.

Everything in this hotel was carefully thought out expect for the lobby unisex bathroom. It’s a large bathroom that could easily split in two. It is located between a restaurant and bar so needless to say, women who are using the bathroom alone have to worry about being harassed or assaulted by intoxicated men. With my experience, I was. I also noticed while washing my hands along side of men, they were nervous too. Terrible decision. Please divide it in two!

This is a large old hotel in a great location, right next to Grand Central station. It exudes old world charm and elegance. Particularly the lobby, which is an art deco masterpiece. The staff is excellent. The rooms are very clean. The hotel offers great value for the price.

The location was excellent. If I could have, I would have rated the hotel 3.5. The staff were friendly. The bed was great. The air handling system was noisy, but other than that it was a quiet location. We were on the 2nd floor. The ‘balcony’ and our windows were at the ground floor of a dark atrium - so NOT. The stairwells which we used being on the 2nd floor - were scary and not at all hygienic - definitely need some attention - space is obviously a challenge, because at times they were crowded with garbage bags. Probably wouldn’t meet code in a fire situation. It wouldn’t take a lot to improve though.
