We were very impressed with the character of the hotel and especially the english gardens with lots of activities for everyone. Indoor, outdoor pools, croquet, golf, putting green, spa etc. The room was spacious and perfect for the period of the hotel. The only thing that kept us from giving an overall rating of 5 was our experience at breakfast. Overall the staff were very pleasant with one exception, apparently we were the only ones who had ordered a continental breakfast and as a result the staff seemed offended. They were curt in telling us what we could and couldn't eat from the buffet. When we ordered tea for two it didn't arrive. When I asked for the tea again, it was delivered with a huff... otherwise a wonderful stay.

Rather unusual hotel - some sort of foreign student business runs from the same address. Everyone on the staff I met was very friendly, whether Finnish, French or Greek. They love to make you cups of tea! Breakfast was puzzling however - I was shown where the kitchen was - very well fitted, huge table - but it was deserted whenever I went there. A sign said it was a do-it-yourself kitchen, and please clear up after you, so very like a hostel. I found some cereal and milk, and there were eggs, but no sign of any bread, or any indication of if you were supposed to buy all your own stuff. As I wasn't travelling by car, it would have been a nuisance to have to go shopping and impossible to pack food to bring. I had cereal and milk, and hoped I wasn't eating someone else's food! Also the room wasn't serviced, so the bin was overflowing after two days. I am over 70, and maybe 'Hotel' means something different to me.However, the room was very reasonably priced, and the place would be great for younger people more used to hostelling. Very handy for the RHDR steam railway.

Hotel is situated in a fantastic spot with sea views in a lovely part of Folkestone. Great size family room, delicious buffet breakfast and a stylish bar with wonderful view across gardens to the sea. Highly recommended and will definitely be returning.

Everything about this hotel was great except for the last lot of stairs to the fourth floor. They were very steep and we were out of breath by the time we made it to our room. We stayed for a few nights and got to enjoy all the sights and sounds of Ramsgate plus it is close to many other areas such as Canterbury, Dover, Deal etc with excellent roads to them. Parking was on the street but we found parking each time.

In Folkestone for one night business trip, and wanted a cheap clean hotel for bed and breakfast only. This is not a 5* hotel, but for £26/night, B&B, it was excellent value. My room was quiet, clean and had a bed, tv and en-suite... what more do you need!

The hotel was very impressive considering the price. I was not at all expecting the level of comfort that was presented. Staff did seem a little abrupt at times but the room and breakfast were well above expectation.

Folkestone is a picturesque coastal town that makes the most of its seaside setting. With miles of promenades and the unique Lower Leas Coastal Park linking the harbour with the town centre, Folkestone comes alive in the summertime. Visitors can take a break from the beachside entertainment and venture to Port Lympne's nearby wildlife park which is home to elephants, primates, and big cats.
