My husband and I were wanting a quick get away to Gulf Shores and Orange Beach. This hotel was perfect for us. We weren't willing to spend $200-400 a night for a hotel when we were planning to spend most of our time on the beach doing activities.
Even though this hotel is listed in "Foley, AL", this hotel is on the strip that leads straight into Gulf Shores beach and restaurants and its less than a 10 minute drive bc of traffic and lights. It was also only a 20 minute drive to Orange Beach.
This obviously is a top of line hotel like Wyndham Anatole, but it was nice/clean and exactly what we expected. The restroom is kind of small, but nothing you can't deal with. A/C worked perfectly, and house cleaning did a wonderful job. The swimming pool was also very clean. We also enjoyed the continental breakfast.

Our stay at the Hotel Magnolia was a wonderful experience overall! The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating, and they treated us like family. The European continental breakfast was amazing, and the hotel, itself, is truly a work of art. I would recommend staying here if you are looking for an experience that it out of the ordinary because it is very different from staying in a normal hotel. The building is very old and, although it is full of rich history and beautiful decorations, it is lacking in a few modern conveniences, so that was the only downside. (For example, the rooms do not have their own refrigerators, coffee makers, etc. The rooms are also quite small.) But, I cannot emphasize enough how awesome it was to have had the opportunity to stay in a place that is so authentic and true to its history. We will definitely stay here in the future as it was a lot of fun to experience something new!
