Overall we were pleasantly surprised by this last minute choice. It was reasonably clean, the front desk staff was excellent in the afternoon (Travis?), but not so quite as friendly on the morning shift. The lobby was sparse, but clean and comfortable. The room was clean and also comfortable except it had a chemical/smoke smell which bothered me a bit, not terrible, just different, and when I opened the window to get some fresh air, I got a lot of traffic noise from I-5, 50' from my window. Breakfast was acceptable about what you would expect, a step below the mid-priced chains, but besides the waffle makers which were great, everything else pre-made, oatmeal packets, but nothing to put in the oatmeal, one type of yogurt etc. I found enough to fill me up, but can't say I had a smile on my face at breakfast. The worse surprise however was that the beds were very nice I thought, but the pillows were oddly small and tall, so one was not quite enough (I usually sleep with two) and two were too many. Also if you roll over in the night, you will fall off your pillow. Would I stay here again and recommend someone else stay, yes. Would I keep my expectations low so you aren't disappointed, yes I would.

I selected this hotel because it was reasonably priced and centrally located to explore the Vancouver area on a few days getaway. My room was clean, comfortable with pleasant décor and all the amenities I needed. It is located across the highway from a mall that had a good variety restaurants with great food. I used this hotel as a "base of operations" for sightseeing day trips to the east and northwest.

Nice room, clean, comfortable, lovely bed and decor. Breakfast wasn't up to much, but maybe just me, fussy. Internet was useless, but McD and Wendy,s Internet was great. Staff were polite but not welcoming, could learn to smile 😀 We enjoyed our two night stay and would most certainly stay again and recommend to friends .

A mid-sized town on the Nooksack River just 10 miles north of Bellingham and 15 miles from the Canadian border, Ferndale’s shops and restaurants are easily accessible from I-5. Visit during late July for the Old Settlers Picnic and Grand Parade, or catch a civil-war reenactment at the 350 acre Hovander Homestead Park. The waterslides and sandy beaches of Birch Bay are just 10 miles west of town.
