and all but one of the Staff was exemplary. The television in my room wasn't working and Mark was beyond terrific about addressing the problem, trying to find another one and ultimately getting me another room. He even made sure that my move to the other room was an easy one and I was given a glass of wine for my trouble. Later, when I needed assistance with the Wi-Fi connection, I brought my lap top to the front desk and he was extremely helpful. I loved the Hotel, and from check-in to check out it was a 99% positive experience. Including that they accommodated my need to store a cheese cake in their freezer. My absolute ONLY problem was with a front desk person who obviously had a cold. Her sniffing, etc. would not have been an issue (other than being a little off-putting) except that when I asked for a glass, she picked it up and carried it by the top (not the stem) and handled it that way throughout the entire process of filling it. I wiped it down my self - and then transferred the contents to a cup - but it was unsettling to think that something I would put my mouth on was handled so indiscriminately - even if she hadn't had a cold. In every other way, I give the Amelia Hotel an A+!!

We stayed at Residence Inn at Mariott Amelia Island for a mini getaway. We've stayed at this hotel before and loved it then. We had another wonderful stay this time. The room was spacious; very clean and comfortable. There was a slight problem with the thermostat which they fixed right away and the maintenance personnel was very knowledgable and very nice. The couch was uncomfortable but it didn't take away from our whole stay. They said they were upgrading their furniture as well to go with all the renovations that were already done to the hotel. We highly recommend this hotel!

First inhabited by Native Americans, Fernandina Beach is on Florida’s Amelia Island. It has the distinction of being the only city in the U.S. to have flown eight different national flags since the mid-1500s: France, Spain, the United Kingdom, the patriots of Amelia Island, the Green Cross of Florida, the Confederate States of America, and the United States.
