the hotel was excellent , great staff and food. George, the food and bev manager could not have been kinder. Only minor criticism is the live band by the pool were too loud and quite intrusive.

This is the second time that my wife and I have stayed at the Florida House Inn. The first time was in an inner court yard room that was very quite and comfortable. This visit was a bit different. Room 9 is in the front side of the building and their is a bar on this side of the inn. The Green Turtle is a great outdoor bar with live music and the music is great but not at 1030 pm. The city has an noise ordinance but no one seems to know when it starts. I highly recommend the inn and its rustic feel and decor. The building is well over 100 years old and has a great history. But stay in a room that opens to the rear court yard and stay away noisy rooms on the north end of the building.

First inhabited by Native Americans, Fernandina Beach is on Florida’s Amelia Island. It has the distinction of being the only city in the U.S. to have flown eight different national flags since the mid-1500s: France, Spain, the United Kingdom, the patriots of Amelia Island, the Green Cross of Florida, the Confederate States of America, and the United States.
