"Hotel Faro, the Old Town and the Citadel"
My accommodation was the 4 star Hotel Faro located at the Marina. A transfer was booked with the hotel but never arrived, but always take the positives and a ten minute ride in a gleaming metered taxi from the hotel cost 30pc less than the hotel transfer including a good size tip to the courteous driver. The staff at the concierge desk (Julia and Victoria) were most helpful, and were able to find me a very nice room after an initial false start (first room looked out onto the sloping roof of the adjoining building). The reservations team still wanted to debate if they had received my email so Victoria kindly forwarded a copy on to them. The following day I had booked a Stress Buster Massage. Mario the masseur who would appear to be self employed and called in as required was fantastic. He chatted and found out exactly the areas that needed specific attention, not just a one size fits all treatment. He takes a holistic approach and did a great job over running the allotted time until he was happy with the treatment he gave. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.... perfect way to start your break. My stay was for a total of 5 days and with the superb weather I enjoyed that week I made the most of walking the lanes of the Old Town, a little people watching from outside small wine and tapas bars (where the local people frequented) and enjoyed meals from small cafes - eating where the locals went almost always guarantees, good quality, good prices and excellent customer service. Good wine and such

Hotel Afonso III

Rua Miguel Bombarda 64, Faro - Map
Although the hotel is in a dingy back street, it is ideally placed in the centre of Faro, close by the train station and bus/coach station. Like many similar hotels in Portugal, it is very old-fashioned - like something out of the 1960s - but the price reflects this. The buffet continental breakfast was good by small Portuguese hotel standards and the staff were much more accommodating than is normally found in Portuguese hotels. A good find - don't be put off by first appearances but don't expect too much.

Faro Boutique Hotel

Rua do Bocage, 66, Faro - Map
We were very pleased with our 5 night stay at the Faro boutique hotel. It has been recently renovated and now is a modern chick hotel. The red facade is carried over into the bathroom which has a movable blind on the bathroom window in the shower. Sexy! The black and white accessories enhance the look even more. A stocked mini fridge and coffee maker is provided. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. A hot buffet breakfast was worth the price as it included a variety of fresh fruit, yogurt and cereals, croissants, buns and bread, cold meat cuts and cheese as well as scrambled eggs, beans, bacon and sausages. This hotel is just 10" walking distance from the bus and train station and 5" from the old walled city. It is surrounded by plenty of little cafes and shops. Highly recommended!

"nice hotel close to the city centre "
I have enjoyed stay at the guest house as the staff was friendly, it was close to many places such as city centre close to the bus that was going to the beach. Room was always very clean. I would reccommend to any people that dont want to spend a lot of money and still have a good night sleep.

Rua Francisco Lazaro Cortes 11, Faro - Map
"Friendly, quirky hotel in centre"
This was a very cute hotel except for the noise! Varnished, creaky, wooden floorboards and wood doors with noisy locks and heavy iron keys are a bad choice. The noise factor dissuaded me from staying beyond one night, which is a shame. They could lay runners in the hallways, and rugs in the rooms, or hand out compulsory slippers on check-in. They could also get less noisy locks, lighter keys (or velvet coat them) and put small pads on the doorframes to reduce noise. Windows on the communicating walls between bedrooms and shared showers, if they cant be boarded, should have cork sound insulation, not sticky paper on the panes. I could hear every drop as if it were in my room. In the end, I had to play 10hrs of rainstorm sounds on my laptop to get to sleep. I was lucky the other guests were considerate or that would not have sufficed. Finally, as there is no table to put a suitcase on, and only one small chest of drawers in the room, a few pegs to hang clothes would have been appreciated. It is possible to retain the character features while making the stay more pleasant for the guests for not too much outlay.

Faro City Centre is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Faro City Centre, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Faro City Centre hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
