The hotel is older but well maintained. Our room and bathroom were clean. The hotel has wifi and free parking. The room lacked the usual amenities like a coffee maker and a hair dryer. There was soap in the bathroom but no shampoo or lotion. I am not complaining, just want people to be prepared. As the name indicates, it is in the middle of the City on a busy street. We were concerned that it may be too noisy but it didn't bother us at all. The beds were comfortable and we slept well. The continental breakfast was simple but adequate.

I gave it a four instead of a five because I usually prefer my hotels to have a pool and spa, which this one does not. Otherwise it is a lovely hotel surrounded by great bars and restaurants very close to the college.

Just stayed for a overnight trip in town. Location was great relative to where we were headed. Hotel staff were helpful and the room was nice. Will probably stay again if ever in the area again. Good value.

If you need to visit Northwestern university campus in Evanston, this hotel is within walking distance. If you have a car, be prepared to pay for overnight parking. There is a cheaper option down the street in the garage. There was one minor issue with the room. We had handicap accessible room and for some reason there weren't enough shelves in the bathroom to put anything. Otherwise it's a nice hotel.

Home to one of the most diverse populations in the Chicago area, Skokie hosts a Festival of Cultures every May. A sculpture park in town features 70 different works of art. Just north of the park is a statue to Mahatma Gandhi. The campus of Northwestern University occupies much of Evanston. This tree-lined suburb also claims to be the birthplace of the ice cream sundae.
