Stayed here for a week for work. It is very close to the core. The rooms are fairly small but very clean. The front desk staff are very friendly, including the bell staff. The only complaint I have is the noise level - you can easily hear the rooms next door or the elevators. The air con gets pretty loud too.
The neighbourhood is quiet during the weekdays but come the weekend, it can be quite loud.
Overall, it's a good hotel for a short stay.

"Reasonable priced 4 star hotel near the west loop"
This was the second time I stayed at this hotel. I work for a company with an office in the west loop and the location was very convenient. Price was slightly less than others 4+ star hotels, but the gym and lobby were both nice. Decor is Art Deco which I think is pretty cool. 1st visit I was in a delux room which was very nice. This time I was in a standard room which was small. But the bathroom was clean and the stay was good. Overall a good value.

gorgeous view from the rooftop. Lobby and coffee shop were perfect. Car valet extremely convenient and friendly. Rooms were a little on the older and small side but this comes with a hotel in a big city. Great character and location right across from the park and Lake Michigan!

Hotel is beautiful, all redone inside; bed was so comfortable! Hotel staff was friendly! Checkout was at noon so that was a plus where most hotels it's at 11:00. Would stay here again without hesitation!

Comfortable hotel conveniently located in the heart of the shopping. The rooms were clean, modern, and moderately roomy; however, I found they had some cosmetic flaws that could be "cleaned up." For a 4-star property I would not expect to see this. Overall, given the price point and location, I would recommend the hotel and probably stay here again.

This hotel was built in 1929 and is very well kept up. The staff are friendly, the room was clean, the food in the restaurant was wonderful, the hotel was quiet and the price was reasonable. I would give them 5 stars except... the mattress in our room; room 405 was worn out and shaped like a bowl. We spent the night fighting gravity, rolling into each other (elbow in the back). Do not stay in room 405 until they replace the mattress. We had dinner in the beautiful restaurant, great menu, food came quickly, beautiful presentation, wonderful tasting. Our waiter didn't return to refill coffee, that we had asked him for. We had to ask another waiter to send him over to order something else and someone else delivered that. Our waiter forgot to tell the kitchen about my request to leave the eggs (I'm allergic to eggs) and blue cheese off of my salad and it was delivered to the table with both in it. He never returned to check on us. Then our waiter never brought our check and we had to ask another waiter for that. I think someone from the kitchen came to deliver the check to us and to retrieve the payment from us. We never saw our waiter again. I would recommend the hotel and the restaurant (for the food) and would stay here again when in town.

Home to one of the most diverse populations in the Chicago area, Skokie hosts a Festival of Cultures every May. A sculpture park in town features 70 different works of art. Just north of the park is a statue to Mahatma Gandhi. The campus of Northwestern University occupies much of Evanston. This tree-lined suburb also claims to be the birthplace of the ice cream sundae.
