I visited with my young daughter and the hotel staff were excellent. They had good facilities and we were able to enjoy the view of the sea.
The food is a little dull at times and the drinks are really expensive, but I loved the Ice cream bar, and the secluded feel.

Super hotel with a wide range of facilities for adults and children. We had an apartment which was huge with a large lounge diner, two big bedrooms with two bathrooms. There was no kitchen which was fine as we were half board but a bit of fridge space that was more than a mini fridge would have been good.
The restaurants and food were excellent with such a massive range of variety (even had Brussel Sprouts for a breakfast option!!). There was too much to choose from at times that I overate! All the staff were really friendly and helpful, especially the restaurant staff who worked tirelessly in what was a big operation. The room / apartmert was kept really clean and tidy every day as well.
The gym was ok, we didn't use it, it's a holiday after all. Some people have complained about the lack of facilities in it but its a hotel not a leisure centre, it was more than adequate. All the swimming pools were great and we could get fresh beech towels every day. The activities staff were great and fun and the aqua aerobic classes were fun and popular.
We have 2 children ages 4 and 9 but tended not to use the children's entertainment as most children were Spanish families on holiday from the inner and larger cities and towns. Therefore I think they would have been a little unsettled although the staff did speak basic English.
You do have to stick your beech towels out early in the morning for the pool or everyone else will have reserved the sun-beds which is a pain.

Excellent stay for 10 days. Good location for us as we intended to spend time in porta banus and gib and the location was good. Food is impressive and entertainment was ok. Children's disco was missing after dinner and the hotel next door seemed to have better lineup.

1. This is not a hotel, it is an apartment in what looks like a time-share complex.
2. The apartment was excellent and fully equipped but the following should be noted:
a) The two bathrooms are quite small.
b) Main bathroom bath/shower is difficult to get in/out so seniors look-out.
c) Hot water is limited to capacity of electric tank.
d) Not the easiest of places to find.
e) Pillows were not comfortable.
f) Has its own parking area in communal garage but not the easiest to get in/out.
g) There is a fully-equipped kitchen but no coffee or water (other than tap water) available for when you arrive.
h) You will need to rent a car since the complex is not walking distance from amenities.
3. The location is not by or close to the seaside.

We stayed in Hotel Piedra Paloma for 2 nites as 'biz trip' to look for decorator for our new apt in Estepona. It is good enough for us as we only need a clean, comfortable place to sleep that is near to our apt. But if you are a holiday maker who will be staying in the hotel a lot or expect to use the hotel facilitiy a lot, then, this might not be the place for you.
We had breakfast in the hotel which is reasonably priced and delicious. It does not have a menu but the waiter will tell you the options they offer.

Estepona is often mentioned in the same breath as its glitzy neighbour, Marbella, but is much less developed—and less expensive. Alongside the new hotels and modern marina, it retains a characterful Old Town with steep, cobbled streets and tapas bars. Its beaches are among the best on this stretch of coast, including a (legal) nudist beach. There is a good golf course here and Selwo Safari Park is very close by. By night it is relatively quiet.
