"End of holiday Stay"
We stayed here the night we returned to the UK and had a very good experience. The only issue we had was being given an accessible room but this was quickly rectified and everything from this point we couldn't fault

"peaceful stay."
Left to our own devices. Didn't see a soul. A bargain rate hotel stay. A good night's sleep after a 3hr flight......and even though our we arrived an hour late, due to clearance at airport, there was no problem booking into the hotel.

"Good value for money hotel "
Pleasantly surprised at the location. Close to the airport but far enough away from the motorway traffic and aircraft noise. Although a tad old fashioned, and in need of a general update, I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again myself when flying from Stansted. The room itself was adequately spacious, offering the usual amenities and more in comparison with a better known chain which I used at the outset of my journey. On arrival I was checked in courteously and promptly, and when I mentioned being really tired from my return trip I was given a room at the back of the hotel which I was thankful for. Food was avaliable in the restaurant if required but I cannot comment as did not have the evening meal. However, after paying in advance for a breakfast which promised continental type and also hot food I was very disappointed because the temperature and quality of food on offer left a great deal to be desired. Absence of any staff at 8:45 am was very noticeable too. That being said I would recommend the hotel overall, but would strongly advise going for breakfast elsewhere.

"Does what it says on the tin."
We had great trepidation about this visit given the reviews, however it was absolutely fine.exactly as you would expect for an airport hotel. One criticism though- I rang several times beforehand with a query and no one picked up. This was very annoying as it was about something vital to our stay.

"Great, friendly hotel in picturesque setting"
I was looking for a "cost-effective" place to stay to get me nearer to London/Gatwick airport after a friend I was meant to stay with was taken ill last minute. Knowing that I would be taking Darftord crossing, I was looking at Harlow/Bishop's Stortford area, and this was one of the first hotels that caught my eye on the 'net. After a bit of research I decided to go for Little Hallingbury Mill based on it's quaint description (and exceptionally reasonable price), and was not dissappointed. A little difficult to find in the dark/wet weather (they plan to put up a clearer signage on the junction), I was pleased to see an old C19th Mill, annex and Millhouse converted to rooms, snug bar and dining area. Exceptionally friendly staff/owners made me feel very welcome, discussing the geography and history of the Mill/functioning waterwheel/gearset that is a feature of the bar over a nice cold pint of Stella (Ale and other lagers available). I turned up too late for dinner (I didn't get there til ~10pm), but was offered sandwiches if required. A traditional full English (cereals etc also available) set me up in the morning for my continued drive. All in all, excellent value for money. Would recommend to friends/family.

"Decent spa hotel"
This is a very good spa hotel, ideal for a short stay, the facilities are fine (seeing some of the earlier reviews I was expecting it to be somewhat run down ) but it is in shape, the staff were excellent, helpful polite and keen to please,so my advice is to disregard some of the negative comments,I truly believe some folk just like to moan.

Essex is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Essex, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Essex hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
