We had a 2 bedroom. It was clean and huge!two bedrooms downstairs and the master upstairs. Breakfast was great and the staff was awesome at helping with shuttles and finding things. It was a bit noisy and the beds are hard but I think thats normal here. Had great margaritas. Shuttle was $25 from San Jose airport. Perfect temperature pool and helpful little store.

My husband and I stayed here for the last few nights of our honeymoon so we would be able to explore the city and be closer to activities like coffee tours and volcanos. The hotel was nice, it was clean and the front desk staff were kind. It is in a business district so there are a lot of business men and women at the hotel and in the plaza. The plaza the hotel is located in has many restaurants which was convenient and its within walking distance of a huge mall where we caught a movie one night. I don't have any complaints about the hotel itself but our last night there was not great. A restaurant across the plaza turned into some kind of night club (it was Friday night) and the music was so loud we could hear it in our room and could not get any sleep until it finally turned off at 2am. It was our last night in Costa Rica and our flight left early in the morning so it was REALLY frustrating that we weren't able to get any rest.

I needed a place to stay short term and this little place was perfect. My only complaint was that there was no a/c. There was a ceiling fan, but this time of year the weather can get pretty hot ( for me anyway). The window did open , but there was no screen and it was right next to the parking lot in front so there was no privacy. We asked for an extra fan which they were happy to offer. There is a nice small pool and free continental breakfast. The location is safe and a block from the bus stop.

Posada El Quijote is outstanding. The staff is friendly, attentive, and helpful, and the view of San Jose from the inn is outstanding. Bjorn and Alcides helped us book taxi rides, rent a car, find restaurants and attractions, and even upgraded our room and comped our airport transportation after a mixup with our arrival date.
The rooms are clean and comfortable and the Costa Rican breakfasts will help jump start your day of exploring this beautiful country.
If you're looking for an affordable and memorable place to stay in the San Jose area, I would not hesitate to recommend Posada El Quijote. They went out of their way to make us feel at home.

was able to walk to medical appointments- however walking back was challenging as it was up a steep hill- appeared to be lots of traffic throughout the whole day- felt safe though- I didn't have a car so felt somewhat isolated even though things were nearby. Didn't see any vending machines or anything. If you have a car you could go shopping and cook in the rooms.. very clean place... had some translation concerns with staff- wasn't able to give advice or provide direction for things to do. managed to explore myself. They said they have wi-fi but no computer for guest to use. I would stay here again now that I know the area and the price was reasonable. Again very quiet place and extremely clean.

On a hillside overlooking San Jose, the affluent suburb of Escazu is 9 km (6 mi) west of the nation’s capital. Several embassies are stationed here and, over the past decade, a growing number of expatriates from North America and Europe have come to call Escazu home. English is commonly spoken in the area’s many upscale bars and restaurants.
