Stayed here for 2 nights, whilst traveling around the Philippines. Rooms are basic but all new, clean and comfortable. Hot shower is very nice and the air con is quiet and efficient.
7 eleven next to the hotel to get snacks and water. Decent restaurants, shopping centre and bay walk all nearby.
There was some karaoke we could hear somewhere nearby but with ear plugs and jetlag it didn't bother us.

The location of the hotel was excellent for its near the Luneta Park and Fort Santiago. The friendly professional staffs were very good. The looks of the hotel staffs adds character and class to the hotel itself. The rooms were very big and clean. The showers had sufficient hot water to make showering very pleasing. Much other hotels lack these. The complimentary breakfast was excellent for they had varieties of dishes for everyone. Also the free historical tour of the hotel was excellent. It was informative of its history and beauty of the hotel. Transportation was quick and efficient as the staffs calls for taxis. The transportation from and to the hotel was inexpensive and very reasonable.
One of the things I didn't like about this hotel was the location of its smoking area which was located outside the exercise room. It depletes the purpose of exercising if you're advertising a smoking area in this hotel. I strongly believe that this hotel should be a smoke free environment as other North American countries are banning smoking in top five star hotels.
One more thing is the location of their metal detectors as it is situated in front of the lobby in the hotel. I found it very annoying for it makes beeping noises constantly. I found out it is not only myself that was bothered by this most annoying noise.
I liked the hotel for its beauty for they have taken very good care of it and the character and cleanliness of the hotel to me made this hotel a five star hotel.

"Comfortable, good location and reasonably priced."
Room was fairly large and furnished with in room combination safe, refrigerator, double bed, easy chair, flat screen TV, shower and tub. The entire hotel staff are very helpful, courteous and professional. There are many currency exchanges, convenience stores (7-Eleven), restaurants, bars and night clubs on the same street or close to the hotel. The Robinson Shopping Mall is about a five to ten minute walk from the hotel, depending how fast you walk. Directly across the street from the Riviera hotel is a casino. Great for those that like the night life.

Upon entering the lobby I was warmly greeted and my bags were staged for delivery to the room. The desk was staffed with three or four helpful associates who were cheerful, calm, and friendly. My room was ready, the mini-refrigerator was cold, and everything in good working order.

One of the main tourist districts of Manila, Ermita is the site of many government buildings, including the American Embassy. The aquarium at Manila Ocean Park on the Manila Bay waterfront is a great place to take the kids. Rizal Park bills itself as the largest urban park in Asia and features historical monuments, well-tended gardens, and playgrounds.
