Absolutely beautiful Inn. It was a perfect getaway weekend for my husband and me. We would do it more often except that it's rather expensive.

St Michaels Inn

1228 S Talbot Street, St. Michaels - Map
We traveled to St. Michaels for a holiday getaway. We enjoy quiet, laid back surroundings. We found it here, as the time of year is less hectic than summer. St. Michaels Inn has pet friendly, inexpensive, clean rooms. We only wish we had known that breakfast would not be provided on Thanksgiving morning. We would have purchased something the day before and stashed in our cooler. Breakfast on the remaining days was good. We also found our light over the vanity not working when we arrived, so we made do by moving a lamp from bedside to the counter near the sink to be able to see. I left a note, thinking it would be replaced when our room was cleaned the next day, but it never was. So we had to keep the lamp at the sink counter for the remainder of our stay. I am not one to keep nagging to the desk. The room was quiet, our bed was comfortable; we got to catch up on much needed sleep. Shower had good water pressure, always a plus. The room had a fridge and microwave, plus coffee pot. We are not big on TV, so I can't really judge the amount of stations or such. All in all, we had no major complaints and would probably book again for another trip.

"Nice room, serene setting"
Spent Thanksgiving weekend. Staff was very friendly and attentive, room was pretty and clean. The only knock is the breakfast-- too many carbs (toast, bagels, English muffins, donuts, cereal). Meant we had to go out. Something simple like peanut butter packets would cure this. Otherwise a nice place for the price.

"Basic hotel"
We were attending an event in the area, and most hotels were sold out. The only rooms available were smoking rooms, and we were desperate for a hotel room in the area, so,we took them. We knew what we were getting into, so I will not complain about that aspect. But needless to say, it has taken quite a lot of effort to rid our stuff of the smell. I didn't realize there were still hotels that allowed smoking anywhere! Aside from that, the hotel has new beds and they were very comfy. But I felt the hotel was a bit worn. It was definitely clean. No complaints there. If you don't spend a lot of time in the room, this is your hotel. My husband and I prefer a continental breakfast: muffins, pastry, etc, that we can enjoy in the room. This breakfast was good for families: waffles that you make yourself, toast, cereal, fruit. It wasn't what we wanted, but seemed to be enjoyed by the others in the breakfast room. The desk manager was very friendly on a day that was very stressful, due to the local event.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
