This hotel is certainly 'grand' and with its many seating areas, maintains true Victorian style. Good location at the quiet end of the sea view road. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms clean & comfortable with all the facilities; tea, coffee, TV and modern bathroom. The Garden Restaurant had ambience and the food was varied and flavoursome; however, service in the evening was at times, slow. The indoor pool is small and too warm for my liking, but outdoor pool lovely. Treatments are available but need to book on arrival to ensure a slot. I would recommend this hotel for those who want to relax; not really suitable for children.

Arrived in the evening to be greeted by a friendly and helpful receptionist. Was quickly checked in and made my way to my room. At first, it seemed a little small and unremarkable. However, come the morning I opened the curtains and was greeted by the most spectacular "View" of the South Coast beach. Made my way to breakfast where there was a large range of hot and cold fayre. This hotel is one minute's walk from the beach and 15mins (tops) from Eastbourne town centre/station. In the evening the hotel's restaurant serves large servings of a variety of meals and there is also a bar where live entertainment is sometimes performed. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and the staff were fantastic.
Just a side note though, The clientele of The View is on the more 'seasoned' side and there were no young families in the place (it wasn't school holidays so that would be the main reason) or many in Eastbourne for that matter. For that reason I can't honestly tell you if this hotel is suitable for Mum, Dad and their 2.4 'lively' kids.

We loved the hotel was so clean and spacious, bathroom was so nice aswell. Didn't like the breakfast that much but staff including the manager were polite and friendly. The only downside was we had to climb 6 sets of stairs with our babies but it was worth it

A traditional, very comfortable hotel close to Eastbourne's amenities. Superior room was spacious and modern, with everything you could want, although a fridge might have been a nice extra. No air-con, which wouldn't normally matter in the UK but we were there on the hottest days of the year so far - windows open at night meant a bit of noise from passing traffic and late revellers

We had a very good stay at very good value.
Excellent breakfasts and good service.
My friend and I had a single room each.
My room was fine - interior of furniture (drawers etc) could have been cleaner.
My only real issue was that the shower in my room was broken - falling off the wall in quite a dangerous manner. I reported it on my first morning. We stayed three nights and when I left it hadn't been touched and no-one had even got back to me. I pointed this out on leaving.

Stayed for two nights with my daughter for my birthday, parked close by for just £1.00 for the weekend. The first night was quite noisy with a group of young people staying in rooms close by and running up and down the corridor banging doors and shouting. Second night much quieter with only six rooms occupied, everyone else had gone. Reasonable breakfast, waiter served first morning but not quite as nice second morning, presumably due to fewer numbers in the hotel. Polite and helpful staff.
