We chose the Washington Duke Inn for our first visit to Durham and are very glad we did. Our room was spacious & clean and the hotel is very close to downtown. We golfed on Saturday and the course is beautiful (though tough!)
We had lunch outside one day and the food was delicious.

The inn is in the tradition of a B&B. Each room had it's own theme with all the amenities you need. The furniture around the inn were unique. The staff was both friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfasts' they were served in a nice room and our waitress was great. The one thing to know is there is no refridgerators in the rooms, explanation was that it is a law that does not allow them in B&B rooms. I eat all of my food while we were out.

A good fit for the artistic culture of downtown Durham. Very friendly staff. Was pricy due to a full house. Lacking in breakfast options particularly for gluten and dairy free. Room is very Spartan but that's it's style.
