The staff and hotel grounds were amazing! I definitely plan to return. Cleanliness is a high priority for this resort and it is quite evident. The mere fact that Cabo Azul changes out the lounger and bed covers by the pool and on the beach every single night like clockwork is pretty impressive!
If you're looking for a party resort, this is not it. This resort is definitely more geared towards folks who want rest and relaxation...no fun included. I would love to see a little more attention go into the entertainment here, that is honestly the only thing lacking.
There is not much to do in the surrounding area either, about 4-5 small restaurants across the street and that is about it. The town pretty much shuts down after 10pm, if you want to do anything exciting you pretty much have to travel to Cabo, which is about 30 minutes away($50/60 USD cab ride).

"Nice place to stay, be ready for the sales pitch"
this is a really nice place, however they are more concerned with getting you to become a member. From the time you check in, they make you feel guilty if you do not agree to meet with their sale team.
They tell you, " Please just go to the breakfast, this is how I make my money" When you arrive at the breakfast they are really nice until you say no! then they really get upset. They bring in their closer Jason.... Jason can be a real "A"hole.
If you stay away from the timeshare meeting you will have a great time.

This is a nice enough hotel if you are going to be in the Ironman race as it is right along the race course and offers a free shuttle to the swim start. However, the facilities are a little old. The gym has only a small amount of exercise equipment and they didn't all work when I tried to use them. If you get the all-inclusive package, the breakfast is really good. The Wahoo snack bar near the pool has tasty food. The lunch and dinner buffet could be better, but it was OK as well. I would say it's an OK hotel, but if you are going to relax and want a little luxury, you may want to try a different hotel.
