Like the location. Had some issues with housekeeping throwing away some personal items. Also they knocked on door and woke us up on check out day. It was some street noise. At 330am a garbage truck was working. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I really enjoyed my experience at this hotel with one caveat - we couldn't control the heat. The first night there, it was so hot in our room that we almost left. I spoke with the front desk in the morning, and they explained that during that time of year (October), only hot air will come out of the vents. We were told to turn it off and open the window. They also gave us a small fan. We were ok with this, but if you do not want to hear the sounds of the city, it may be a problem for you.
Other than that, I can't complain. Size-wise, for a city hotel I thought the room was really spacious. The staff was nice, but the valets were especially friendly and helpful. They were always willing to give us directions somewhere or tell us their opinions on local places. The hotel was centrally located in the Downtown area. We were within walking distance to Pioneer Square and a bunch of nice restaurants.

Hotel Rose rescued us from Airbnb! This hotel is centrally located to everything downtown; all is within walking distance. It's gorgeous and the staff is so friendly and accommodating. The first night we thought we heard a banging noise and the staff did all they could to assure us - it even included a visit to our room to make sure we were fine for the night. Tremendous customer service. We'll happily stay again!

I stay here frequently when visiting Portland on business. Great independent hotel, extremely reasonable for Nob Hill neighborhood. Very friendly, accommodating and informative staff who I have come to know from frequent travel. The only suggestion I would have for hotel management is to make the curtains a little thicker/less sheer on the rooms across the street. Otherwise love this place! Great bath products too, love the coffee and cookies.

Room with king bed VERY small. Hated plastic cover on the mattress. For that reason alone we won't be going back. No coffee maker. No amenities - not even note pad and pen. HOWEVER, great location, cheapest parking in town (although sel-serve and across the street), nice treats during the day (breakfast goodies, cookies, wine). We had inner courtyard room that looked at NOTHING but brick walls. Really ugly.

West of the Willamette River, downtown offers a celebrated skyline, walkable streets, and a lively arts scene. Visitors shop tax-free at Powell’s Books and Portland Saturday Market, a craft lover’s paradise. Area festivals include Cinco de Mayo and the Oregon Brewer’s Festival. The Oregon Zoo, the swank Pearl District, and the inviting Pioneer Courthouse Square are other noteworthy attractions.
