We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. it is directly across from the park, quick access to a lot of events for winterlude, and plenty to choose from in the ways of food nearby. It's a good idea to factor in another $30 per day for valet parking because there is no way your stay will be anywhere near as convenient without it.

I appreciated my short stay at the Andaz during a work trip to Ottawa. The staff was extraordinary. I was offered a glass of wine upon arrival. Given details about the decor when I expressed interest, offered coffee on my way out in the morning. The room was as clean as it was beautiful. All the in-room snacks and nonalcoholic beverages are complimentary and the bed was VERY comfortable. My experiences at Copper was also great. The stay made the agony of my numerous flights delays easier to get over.

We had a three night stay here and were amazed by the size of the rooms and the amount of space we had. Friends live in smaller apartments! It is also an easy walk to a variety of areas although it might not be central enough for some people's needs. The only drawback was that there was only one breakfast place close by. The rooms were clean. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable.

Check in and out were easy and fast. Staff was courteous. Room was spacious enough and clean. Beds were comfortable with lots of pillows. Lighting in the room was dark. Wall between rooms was thin and not soundproofed at all; we could hear normal conversation very clearly.
It is a comfortable, basic, and clean hotel. Hotel rate and parking were reasonable for downtown hotel. It is nice to be able to leave the car in the hotel without worrying and paying lots of money for parking.
Hotel was walking distance from all the attractions and easy to find food including supermarket, drugstore, liquor store, and beer store.
There are a lot of beggars and homeless people in the area which made us feel uncomfortable and unsafe, although nothing happened to us. It is not the first time for us to be in Ottawa, but is the first time for us to see so many beggars and homeless people in Ottawa. The problem with beggars and homeless people in Ottawa are rampant and everywhere where tourists are; it does not seem to matter which area in Ottawa.

Staff was very friendly and quick to check-in. There is a washroom in the lobby, but you require a pass key that they are more than happy to lend you if you don't have your room key already. There is a small parking lot in front of the hotel for temporary parking while you check-in.
Booked Les Suites because it was close to downtown Ottawa. The King Suite had a full kitchen with separate bedroom, and pull-out sofa. Worked great for our son to sleep in the living room and giving the parents a bit of privacy.
There is a Metro about 3 blocks walking distance, easy to take advantage of the kitchen for breakfast, etc. Close to the Byward Market area, with a selection of pubs, restaurants and shopping. Literally next door to the Rideau Centre shopping mall.
On a side note, check out after you've exited the parking garage -- you require your room key to exit the parking garage.

"Comfortable hotel ideally located for Winterlude"
Stayed for a weekend during Winterlude and hotel was in a perfect spot to walk to Confederation Park activities and skating on the canal and not have to worry about parking and traffic. The hotel is easily accessed from the Queensway (417) despite construction all around Ottawa. The room had all the amenities you would expect and access to a pool/whirlpool and fitness centre. Didn't use the on site restaurant as there are plenty of dining options within a 5-10 minute walk.

Ottawa government buildings dominate downtown Ottawa. Rideau Hall has hosted every Governor General since confederation in 1867. Parliament Hill features the Changing of the Guard ceremony each morning in summer. Rideau Canal, the world’s longest skating rink, is popular in winter. The World Exchange Plaza is a prominent office and retail complex that sits 20 stories tall and covers a city block.
