The hotel is nice and modern. Rooms are small but furnished well. Would recommend the hotel for a short stay as it is situated in the old town with the main tourist attractions within walking distance.

Axsur is a cute hotel near the ramblas, and worked well for my 3-day jaunt to Montevideo. My room was amply sized and very comfortable (really appreciated the ability to make tea/coffee). The staff was very friendly and did their best to help when I needed it. The breakfast, which was not included in my Expedia deal, was really good and well worth the tariff. There's not a whole lot within the immediate area but the nearest grocery and ATMs are within what I think is a reasonable walking distance. A lot of buses are just out the door and it's easy to grab a cab (or Uber if you're a foreigner).

This is not just a topical hotel room. This is home. I felt I am in an appointment. It has 2 rooms, kitchenette, fridge, dishes, silverware, The rooms had own AC and TV with full cable in English, French, Italian, Portuguese and of ours Spanish language programs. This was my best stay in all my trips I had. By the way, the breakfast was excellent. From pancakes, different way of cooking eggs, fresh real orange juice, croissant, etc ...

The hotel is close to the port. It is small (about 21 rooms in total). The staff are very friendly. The rooms are small (more European in size). However, they are very detailed and well thought out for the space.

The hotel was perfect -- clean, attractive, great breakfast and well kept. The best part of my stay was the hotel staff's customer service. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, especially the front desk staff.

The capital of Uruguay is a lively city and justifiably popular with tourists. Sleek new architecture like the futuristic airport sits easily alongside the faded colonial splendor of the old town, while the city's cultural life is exemplified by its many bars, clubs and theatres. Stroll along the Rambla at sunset, sip a cocktail at a beach bar, or tuck into a chivito--the local sandwich.
