Most enjoyable stay car park next to hotel. Very friendly staff nothing to much trouble, jolly female manager ( it makes a difference). Deal is very quaint in place , and a good place to explore on foot. Lots of history in and around Deal with the defences against the Frances during the 18th century . Not forgetting the dear old Romans’ remains scattered around the area. Back to the present we enjoyed watching the fisherman with their rod fishing of the pier. We picked a room looking out at the sea which made the weekend break perfect.

The hotel was very good. It was clean and comfortable. The receptionist was welcoming and polite. The treadmill in the mini gym info screen did not work and there was a "no signal" fault on the TV in there too.
We had a 3 course meal in the Restaurant and whilst the first 2 courses were very nice we thought our 2 Crene Brulees were disappointing. There was a thick layer of granulated sugar?? which was left uncooked with only a small amount of caramelisation. Wwcomplained to the waitress who said she would get the manager. We revived no apology from the waitress. The manager came over and said in a brusque manner "what was wrong with your desserts?" We explained and she displayed a nonchalant attitude she told us that she would take them off the bill but again no apology. A sorry would hVe sufficed we did not want free food. None of the waiters or waitresses who served us smiled or were very pleasant and it's easy to see why when their manager lacked basic customer service skills!!

Cute little B&B very close to the castle. Great breakfast in the basement, the hostess was kind and helpful. If you need to leave your bags early, call first! We just lucked out that someone was there at 2 pm. Otherwise a great stay for a night

Famed for its iconic white cliffs, Dover is a major ferry port on the English Channel. The castle sits upon the steep, chalk face and is a great family destination, offering exciting medieval entertainment and winding tunnels to explore. Calais is visible from the pebbled Dover Beach on a clear day - an ideal spot to sit and watch the boats come in.
