"Good location"
Room was very comfortable and clean, the one thing I would like in the room is a box of tissues, Milk should be changed every day as the milk in our room was sour, other than that we had a very enjoyable stay and the food was very good too.

Lough Eske Castle, a Solis Hotel & Spa

"Cozy and luxurious, except for the outdoor hallway"
Beautiful estate, from the moment you drive up to it. All of the people who work there were exceptionally helpful and pleasant. The Castle and Accommodations were splendid with one exception. You have to go outside and down some steps to get to your room if you are on the courtyard, and this is not a pleasant experience in the pouring rain! The dinner was lovely, and it was a great thing to repair to the comfy sitting room afterwards and have a drink in front of a wood fire, chatting with other guests.

The Central Hotel Donegal

The Diamond, Donegal - Map
"Classic Landmark Hotel, center of Donegal Town"
This is a classic Irish hotel in the center of Donegal Town (in the Diamond). The hotel is old and full of character, the staff is wonderful, bar is great with very nice bartenders, food is good. We've stayed in rooms with both river and town views, both are great (river is quiet and rooms are nice to watch the bay, the tide coming in and out and bird watching, town more lively and fun to watch the goings on). I've stayed here multiple times, rooms are all different, be aware the hotel is old so are some appliances and showers though always very clean and nice amenities, and the age has made me love the hotel and character more and more. Buses stop in front, taxis are always available just across the street (drivers are all very nice and local, they are great for information and history), and there are many cafes, pubs, and restaurants close by (notable The Blueberry Cafe and Castlebar for food). Donegal Castle is also an easy walk and worth checking out.

Clanree Hotel

Derry Road, Letterkenny - Map
"avoid room 271!"
Hotel very clean and well presented but avoid room 271. It site at the end of a corridor and must be beside air con or heating system. It sounds like your trying to sleep in an aircraft - just awful. Needed to get out of the room to escape the noise. I didn't ask to move as there was a wedding on so it seemed unlikely that they would have had availability. Perhaps that's why I Expedia gave me a preferential rate for the room, which wasn't cheap.

Sandhouse Hotel

Killinangel Beg, Rossnowlagh - Map
The exterior of the hotel looks a little dated but inside the decor is excellent and the atmosphere friendly and relaxed. We found the staff very accommodating, warm and efficient. The food is top quality and was served within a short period of time and the view from our room and the dining were outstanding. The room was spacious, clean and well laid out. We regularly stay in hotels around Ireland and this was by far the best, we will definitely be returning and have no problem in recommending this excellent hotel.

Donegal is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Donegal, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Donegal hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
