"Great start to our mini vacation!"
As avid Vegas lovers and travelers, we decided to stay at the MGM Detroit before continuing on to Chicago. This hotel is stunning, so clean with exceptional staff. We were there for our "mini moon" after our wedding and was greeted at check in with a congratulations card. The room was huge and gorgeous, with a great view and extremely comfy bed, spacious bathroom and lovely music playing when we entered! We were WOWd. The hotel is very well kept and the casino was big and a lot of fun! definitely will recommend and stay here again... oh and free parking!! Crazy.

"Beautiful hotel with easy access to downtown "
This was a last minute booking that got us close to the Windsor tunnel and Greektown restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised by how lovely the hotel and the staff were from the moment we arrived. This is now our go to hotel for Detroit visits.

"Reasonable price near Greenfield Village"
This is a clean, no-frills hotel with a nice staff. Breakfast is in a sack, but the rooms are decent, with fridge, microwave and safe. There is also a nice desk area (at least in the rooms with a king sized bed). My room was on the end near M24, but it wasn't as noisy as I thought it might be. If you want something posh where you'll be pampered, don't stay here. If you're looking for a cheap place where you can get a decent night's sleep, this is the place.

    Explore Detroit

You've heard Detroit's riches-to-rags story, from its heady days as the globe's car maker to industrial collapse, mega blight and bankruptcy. But the tide is beginning to turn. Today there's a raw urban energy here unlike anywhere else, attracting artists and entrepreneurs like moths to a flame.

Downtown you can sample a coney (chili-smothered hot dog), catch a Tigers game and meander along the RiverWalk. Greektown bustles with restaurants, bakeries and a casino. Corktown shows Detroit's can-do spirit, with hipster joints slinging burgers, cocktails and pour-over coffee in the shadow of crumbling Michigan Central Station.

Birthplace of the Motown Sound, Detroit is still a live music mecca. In Midtown rock clubs thrash and the Detroit Institute of Arts unfurls one helluva Diego Rivera mural. Eastern Market's halls reverberate with produce and flower vendors' shouts. Next door in Dearborn, the Henry Ford Museum offers an unparalleled spread of vintage vehicles, like the bus on which Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat. So ignore the naysayers. Detroit rocks its gritty charm.
