The room was excellent, staff member was very good to us. Cafe was pretty good, the ham in one instance was over cooked and we had to encourage services from the wait staff. The golf course was excellent. The gambling hall was seriously too smoky.

The Lodge is sited on a hill above Santa Fe with great views of the city and mountains beyond. Some parts of the facility are a bit worn but overall it is an impressive stone and wood construction with beautiful Southwest decor in the rooms and public areas.
The staff is courteous and helpful but a bit sparse at times. The shuttle driver rates a 5+ for friendliness and helpfulness.
The continental breakfast is a cut above most standard motels with a variety of foods and drinks.
A bit above the standard room rate but the atmosphere, location and extras make it a good value.

We stayed one night during a quick visit to Taos. The hotel is a couple miles out of town but the layout is rather charming with Southwest architectural style. It seems to be an aging hotel with upgrades to the dining area and exterior patios/gardens plus a new hotel addition and convention center. Our king room was comfortable yet far from new or polished. The furniture seemed to be from several decades ago though the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was all fine except for what appeared to be areas of "black" grout around the shower/tub - neither of us used that part. There was a refrigerator in the room and a small-ish TV. The included breakfast was a real highlight: huge buffet with many offerings in a spacious dining hall.
