"Nice hotel, friendly helpful staff, good location"
This hotel is well located and provides the level of Shangri-La quality that you would expect. The staff is a bit junior and so sometimes a bit less polished than you might see in other cities, but they always show real effort at being helpful and they are always friendly and polite. I have stayed at Shangri-La properties multiple times before and will plan to do so again.

Kapil the coffee shop/breakfast lounge manager did everything to make our stay wonderful. My husband had a severe stomach issue for a couple of days and Kapil made sure that Khichdi, Dehi and lassi was sent to him in the room as he was unable to partake breakfast.
Amazing customer service skills!

The rooms are clean and comfortable but a bit old. Staff in the lobby very friendly but in the 3rd F restaurant the waiters need some practices in customer service. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant and the Indian food was not tasty (we had chicken tikka and kebab. The breakfast, on the other hand, was good and the cooks and managers were very friendly and help.

We liked the warm welcome and helpful staff. The entertainment was great including morning flute and evening shows.
The restaurants quality of food and standard of cooking was less than expected for a five star.
that said it was a very good experience to stay at this hotel

A true credit to the Oberoi brand, this property provides all the amenities of a five-star hotel, however the experience feels somewhat like a seven-star given the personal touches, proximity to senior professionals in the hotel and passionate service driven staff. This property shows clear signs of excellent leadership from the General Manager which influences the motivated and exceptionally helpful staff to go beyond their remit. Whilst most hotels offer a welcome and departure which is memorable this hotel offers that extra something - consistency. The arrival, stay and departure provide a consistently exceptional experience. No request is too small or big, the comfort of its guests is the main priority of this property. The hotel complex is breathtaking. The natural wakeup call which is the sound of peacocks on the property grounds, the service promise to deliver food to your room within 30mins, the choice of pillows, entertainment and convenience are all a step ahead of any other hotel which I have stayed in. This property is synonymous with luxury, exceptional experience and memorable.

The room was very good, location is good too, pool, gym, spa all good. Only problem was some of the staff members were very desperate for tips, and over talkative even though a service charge is included in the bills, I dont wish to name the particular staff as I felt bad for them really. The breakfast was another issue, took sometimes 15-20 mins to get eggs from the buffet and many times it was prepared wrong. The staff were unable to cope with breakfast pressure and felt over worked, they were all courteous though perhaps this hotel doesnt pay its staff well enough.
Overall its a nice hotel but i wouldn't call it a 5 star, at best its a 4 star really.

In general, we love the Leela and have stayed several times at both the Gurgaon and Chanakyapuri sites. This was our second stay at the Gurgaon site in the last 2-3 years. Overall, while the hotel facilities and service are world class and the location is conveniently near the international airport (especially good for those midnight arrivals and departures), I found three items that place this particular hotel below 5-star standards: the Indian restaurant, Diya, the poor lighting in the room and the poorly designed bathroom. Diya had unimaginative food with exorbitant prices (INR 700 for bottled water!) and has not improved in the several years since our last experience there. The bathroom is designed with a glass window to the room - so, if one occupant turns on the bathroom lights in the morning, it is certain to disturb the other occupant. Furthermore, the shower controls are not marked, necessitating one to experiment with 4 different knobs while trying not to get scalded by hot water.
