Very friendly and helpful staff, better English than I expected. More or less traditional ryokan, with tatami floors. The room is spacious during the day when the futons are rolled up (the staff does that for you), and the futons are very comfortable to sleep on. Breakfast included in the price of the room was excellent. Dinner was extra, but not expensive--about $25 for a first-class, elegant Japanese dinner.
The staff were very helpful, even picking us up at the bus terminal (much appreciated after a 16-hour journey) and dropping us off at the train station. Everything about this ryokan is first class, and we would stay again any time.

Hotel was tucked away in a tiny little street in Nozawa Village. Parking was very limited at the hotel and we in fact got parked in the following morning when we were due to leave. Hotel staff were lovely and their English was good. Room was clean and spacious, had kitchenette so was able to cook breakfast in the room which is handy and breakfast was included in our stay so again, very helpful. The village is small and very hilly, so be prepared to do some walking up and down hills. Not very close to anything if not snow season.

We get in and out of Nagoya several times in our trip. Reception is helpful to handle our luggage and all other issues. The hotel hardware is a bit dated, we have got something broken in our room and the technician came to fix it soon after we reported. Toilet has very bad smell but seems to have no way to dea with it. This hotel is a bit far from subway and shopping area (than what we expected) but just opposite to airport bus stop. Given its comparatively low price, I would stay there again.

About 20 minutes walk from Kawaguchiko station. Do take the Retro bus to bus stop #4 and start walking from there instead. Overall a very lovely place. The room and shared bathroom is very clean, feel free to use the kitchen and hang out at common room. Would definitely stay here again!
