"Perfect for Ski Vacation in Hakuba with the family"
We stayed at this great local hotel right next to the information center in Hakuba for a long weekend of skiing. The location is fantastic, as you can take care of any gear rentals there and it's the hub of all of the buses to the various resorts as well as the express bus from Nagano. It's also easy walking distance to restaurants, convenient store, etc.
The hotel itself is basic and a little older, but it's well taken care of and the couple who runs the place couldn't be any nicer or more helpful. It also has an onsen on the top floor, which is really convenient to take a soak after (sometimes also before) a long day on the mountains.
We stayed in a typical Japanese tatami room and really enjoyed it -- my son said it was like camping out (positively). The room was very comfortable, as long as you're familiar with sleeping on futons on the floor -- not necessarily a western hotel experience. I believe they may have western-style rooms as well, but that wasn't important to us.
Overall, my family really enjoyed staying at this hotel and will put it at the top of our list when we return to Hakuba.

Hotel was tucked away in a tiny little street in Nozawa Village. Parking was very limited at the hotel and we in fact got parked in the following morning when we were due to leave. Hotel staff were lovely and their English was good. Room was clean and spacious, had kitchenette so was able to cook breakfast in the room which is handy and breakfast was included in our stay so again, very helpful. The village is small and very hilly, so be prepared to do some walking up and down hills. Not very close to anything if not snow season.

We get in and out of Nagoya several times in our trip. Reception is helpful to handle our luggage and all other issues. The hotel hardware is a bit dated, we have got something broken in our room and the technician came to fix it soon after we reported. Toilet has very bad smell but seems to have no way to dea with it. This hotel is a bit far from subway and shopping area (than what we expected) but just opposite to airport bus stop. Given its comparatively low price, I would stay there again.

In general, it is a nice hotel with very friendly and helpful staffs. Rooms are spacious for family of 4 with 2 young kids. Sakae subway station (Exit 12) is just 5 minutes walk away and you can walk to major department stores and Oasis 21 within 10 minutes. They've got a Airport limousine bus station right at their doorsteps, which makes it very convenient for travelers with heavy luggage or kids/elderly. Breakfast buffet is very good with nice choices of foods and tastes good.
In general, the room is pretty clean. However, it shows signs of wear (especially the bathroom) and a major renovation is obviously due. Housekeeping staffs are a little bit sloppy. They managed to miss refilling the complimentary bottled water every single day and I need to call the front desk for resupply in the evening when I returned. Then, on the second day, they did not change the used glasses and cup and refilling the tea bags. This is something really surprised me with a hotel in this class and price range.

We liked this hotel and location so much we stayed three extra nights. Easy access to trains to get everywhere. Wonderful staff and nice rooms. Only problem we had was the air conditioning didn't work and they never got it fixed. Fortunately it wasn't too hot. We will be back to this hotel next time we're in Nagoya.

About 20 minutes walk from Kawaguchiko station. Do take the Retro bus to bus stop #4 and start walking from there instead. Overall a very lovely place. The room and shared bathroom is very clean, feel free to use the kitchen and hang out at common room. Would definitely stay here again!
