Good: location, rooms are awesome, fridge in room, indoor pool for the winter, ice rink on site, quick check-in, Dog friendly, beautiful lobby decorated for Christmas.
Bad: Expensive and under average food - think 3x the real price, restaurant attention was poor. Building has leaks, and they were addressing them with buckets.
Bottom line: did it once, may stay again for the right price, absolutely not paying such high prices for food.

Even though expensive, the stay at Furnace creek was a unique experience. The location and the history of the building carried the day. Good dinner and breakfast overall experiences. The pool refreshing after a long day of driving and the stargazing would be improved if there was better instructions on how to do it closer to the property.
(I discovered the spot by mistake the next morning)

Make no mistake. The price is right. The office staff are extremely pleasant, courteous and helpful. The rooms are quite basic, as you would expect, but they are comfortable. Yet the rooms are rather worn and in want of some TLC, and in some cases, some repairs (we had no functioning lock on our door, for example). The morning breakfast is limited, which is not surprising. The location is easy to find, particularly when you are coming in late at night and just want to check-in and get to bed. The beds were comfortable and the linen was clean.
