Second visit to this hotel, only issue last time was Wi Fi Which was expensive and only available in certain areas for free. This seems to have been sorted now with free Wi Fi being seemingly available free of charge throughout the hotel like it should be.

This hotel is a diamond in the rough. Rated 4-stars and located in Deira in the traditional heart of old Dubai not far from the gold and spice souks. The hotel is about 10-minutes by taxi from DXB airport, and close to the metro red line (5 minutes walk to Al Riqqa station). Although visible from Al Muraqqabat Rd, there is no direct access from that street, so trust in GPS or the knowledge of the local taxi drivers to snake your way to the front door through backstreets and a car park. Once inside you're warmly greeted by the reception with a cup of juice or water as they check you in. The staff in every department is friendly and courteous, and they put guests at ease by greeting them in person or on the phone by using the guest's first name with the appropriate title. Yes, the hotel is small enough that everyone quickly knows who you are, but not in an intrusive sense. One gets the idea that you are important to the hotel and the staff truly want to serve. The room was comfortable and spacious. The only negative was that there was only 1 free outlet for charging electronics (under the desk) away from the bed. The bar counter was enough to enjoy a late-night meal delivered from the 24-hour cafe in the lobby. This was the first hotel I've stayed in where the menu for both cafe and in-room dining is the same, and the bill didn't include service charges, so I recommend a nice tip to the staff upon delivery. The room service menu has variety as does the morning buffet.

My wife and I travel a lot and we vacated here last week for 6 nights, the room style is a little dated and that is really the only downside but it wasn`t a real issue to us.
The food was excellent, the staff were all very courteous, happy to see you and always smiling! We had an executive room with access to their bar (The Lindbergh) which has a happy hour (6-8pm). Food and drink here were all very good.
The gym is well equipped, but the star attraction will be the roof top pool which is not overlooked by anything other than the aircraft landing or taking off at Dubai..The bar prices here are a little too expensive to drink and eat at each day but for a one off it`s no problem.
We hired a car and the concierge park it for you, simply `phone down to reception with the ticket number given to you when you give them the keys and the car is there waiting for you - great service.
I have recommended this hotel to my friends, relatives and colleagues and we intend returning next year..

On the north side of Dubai Creek, Deira is an interface between the high-rise business city and the traditional Arab trading port. Modern malls give way to ancient souks selling silks, spices, gold, perfumes, and a lively fish market. A broad waterfront promenade leads past the dhow wharf, where the wooden vessels offload their cargos. Beyond lie the dhow boat-building yards, and Dubai Creek’s ritzy golf and yacht club.
