"Renovated Eclectic Stay"
Stop-over hotel for return flight from Pittsburgh. Staff were pleasant, but young and somewhat inexperienced - not great resources for info. Food from organic restaurant in hotel (ate late dinner and breakfast there) was good. Carpet in 4th floor hallway needed cleaned or sanitized; it smelled like "monkey butt". Room was spartan, but nice and clean and spacious.

"Nice hotel with a lot of history. "
Used to be a federal reserve bank. You can see the vaults/safes still there. A bit pricey but worth it. The pool area was the old firing range for the security force. Free meals 2 times daily and good food.

"Fabulous!!!"
The Kimpton is a wonderful hotel in a great location in the centre of Pittsburgh. From the moment you are greeted at the valet to the final wave as you drive away, the staff throughout the hotel are highly attentive and friendly. The room was so comfortable we were sad to leave. The innovative design touches catch your eye at every turn. They host a wonderful happy hour every afternoon -- a great chance to catch a breath (and a glass or two of wine) before heading out for the evening. I would highly recommend this wonderful hotel to anyone visiting this lovely city!

"Confluence of comfort"
After a long road trip, you want a nice modern hotel. A touch of luxury . A comfortable room, a nice view. You want easy walks to restaurants, not to bother with the car. All of these come together at the confluence of the Allegheny and Monongahela. Great view out over the point. Would be nice to have fridge and microwave .

Only there long enough to sleep. Though hotel was having difficulty with hot water, staff was very accommodating and helpful even late at night.

"Close to Carnegie Mellon University "
We stayed here during a visit to Carnegie Mellon Univ for a tour. It's an 18 min walk there from this hotel and a 10 min walk to the Carnegie Art Museum and Natural History Museum. It's also a 10 min walk to the college town with plenty of restaurants and convenience stores. Perfect location!

Problem when I returned to the hotel after 11pm and my key card would not open the front door. I had to go around the building to another door for my key card to work and let me in.

"Nice, close to airport and downtown Cody, WY"
Check in was pretty fast as we arrived a little early. Room was kept very clean. When I called about smoke detector hanging off ceiling and no battery in it, was told maintenance didn't come in until 10:00 a.m. and we stayed 3 nights but this issue was never addressed. Also asked for lid to ice bucket and was told there was none, however later on our next room neighbor was getting ice & she had a lid for hers. Continental breakfast was very slim, wish it would've had a couple of fruit choices but had just hard boiled eggs instead of scrambled, no ketchup and no hot sauce available. Other than these issues, was a very adequate room, very clean and a minute from the small airport and 5 minutes drive to downtown.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
