The tourist information is never clear and not being a local, they tend to mislead and take advantage of tourists. For example; we were told that the tour to Machupicchu was $US80 and when I was about to pay they charged $US110 and also for another tour, they told me 70 soles which then changed to 80 soles. In order to get some of my money back, I had to argue with them. Be careful when exchanging or converting monies at the hotel and everywhere else in that matter. They take advantage of tourists. Get quotes in writing and confirm conversion rate in writing also when booking tours. I was lucky I spoke the language. Apart from the misleading information and one way lift, the hotel itself was was great and in a good location.

"Affordable hotel near the Plaza de Armas. "
This was our first time in Cusco. We were looking for an affordable hotel that wasn't a hostel. Hotel Yabar Plaza fit the ticket. Everything is as advertised. Check-in was quick and seamless. Our room was small, very simple but comfortable enough for two nights. The rooms are connected directly to the main atrium of the hotel. Our room was right near the dining room, so we were a little worried about noise. But, we had two early mornings, so it wasn't a issue. This is definitely a nice hotel if you are looking for something affordable and simple. The breakfast buffet was small, but there was a lady there to make eggs and her omelettes were delicious.

"Wonderful stay in a great part of Cusco"
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff was always friendly and helpful, and the hotel itself is stylish, well-equipped, and in a great location. Situated directly across the street from the Qorikancha site, it provides a great jumping-off point for walking around the tourist areas of the city- about a 10 minute walk to Plaza de Armas and a 15-20 minute walk to San Pedro market and train station. The hotel room was nicely decorated, clean, comfortable, and just generally homey. Wi-Fi was well connected, the bed was comfortable, and they even provided throws (blankets) to use when hanging around.

"A different experience in Cusco"
You'll feel like you are a couple of stars above what you paid. Every room is different, so all I can do is review the one we were in, ours was Chan-Chan, you can search for pictures of it online. Yes, the bed is hanging from the ceiling, it was very comfortable, very quiet area, hot water in seconds, and everything was very clean. At first you'll think the room and the hotel itself are brand new, but looking closely, some minor details will tell you that they're not, but in great condition, they really make an effort to be squeaky clean. The only downside is the fact that is located 15 minutes from the main square, where all the tourists will want to look for restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. For us it wasn't a problem, but some people would want to be closer. Didn't stay long enough to try the breakfast, sadly, for sure it was excellent as the rest of the experience.

"Nice hostel a couple of blocks from everything"
Cusco will give you a headache, because of the altitude and the weather, for sure you'll need a place to rest your head and recharge your batteries. This hostel is two blocks from the main square, one block from great restaurants and bars, safe to go out and if you feel bad, go back and rest... and when you feel like you could walk some more, the city will be yours. Good bed and amazing hot water, sadly didn't had the time to taste their breakfast.

Cusco is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Cusco, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Cusco hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
