"Nice hotel "
Nice hotel in the middle of Mexico City. Short walk to the park and other tourist attractions. Night life seemed a little run down but just a quick taxi ride to a lot of good spots.

I absolutely loved the hotel , the one thing I did not like was I could not figure out how to close the curtains, but I am sure if I would have called they would have helped but I was to tired.

"Sophisticated, Great Location. Adults-Only Pool"
A well kept 5-star hotel. Common areas are beautiful, if not as large en masse as competing 5-star options; one of the great things about springing for a 5-star is the larger and classy common areas to lounge around, that was just a bit lacking. But the extra service and stellar attention to detail that you'll get from a 5-star and usually not a 4/3-star property is absolutely there at the Marquis Reforma. Our room's HVAC system seemed to keep things terribly warm at night - as they'd upgraded our space without requesting so it seemed a more than fair trade to our favor, but it was indeed hot in the room at night for some reason and I suspect a more tightly controlled HVAC maintenance check regimen for every unit would have eliminated that problem. Attend the Sunday buffet if you're there then, you'll love it and they break out all the stops. I was duly impressed with the night manager's professionalism. I would certainly stay there again and recommend to others. POOL INACCESSIBLE FOR CHILDREN; while I did really like this great hotel, it is important for future bookers that they know this going in, as we bought partly on those pictures of the pool and as the parents of 8 and 10 yr olds we could have had more quality/cultural/adventurous time to ourselves if we could have left our daughters and their phones at the pool occasionally.

"Beautiful hotel in need of better staff"
The hotel is beautiful. It is in a nice part of town and is very opulent and historical. The rooms are large and clean. My only gripe is the staff. I found them cold and arrogant. Although they let me check in early, they made sure to make me feel as if they were doing me a big favor even though they had me stay in the smoking part of the building (and I don't smoke). Upon check out, I didn't check my receipt -- which was made out to another person! Unfortunately, I did not catch this mistake until the hotel staff gave me a huge hassle and refused to let me leave the hotel until I proved to them I had paid and checked out. (I stayed with a friend in another room my last night because my flight was at 2:00am the next morning and I didn't want to pay for a whole night for a few hours of sleep). I considered making this my "go to" hotel in Mexico City, but the staff seemed unfriendly and, quite frankly, incompetent. If you're looking for ease and comfort, I'd suggest staying at a more established and professional hotel. The price at this hotel is low because the hotel is old (though beautiful) and in need of updating, but also because the staff seems uninterested in making your stay pleasurable. In my case, I'd consider it as a back-up hotel. There are lots of old, beautiful hotels in the city.

"Wonderful choice"
My wife and I recently stayed for about a week. It was the first time I had used the Fiesta Americana brand, but it will be my first choice when I return to Mexico. I was extraordinarily pleased with the professionalism of the staff and the attention to detail. The food choices were often better than the choices in the surrounding neighborhood. The room itself was very pleasant and very clean. One of the best factors is its location. My wife and I prefer walking and the hotel was midpoint between two major tourist destinations: Chalputapec and the Zocolo. We walked almost everywhere we wanted to go. In addition, the surrounding neighborhood is safe and offers a huge variety of food, banks, and services. We highly recommend the hotel and plan to use the brand again in the future.

"Very Good Hotel"
The hotel had all my information ready when we arrived, check us in quickly, the room was ample and well maintained, ample parking was available, the location was good, the noise was less than we expected given that it is located in the Mariachi plaza, good restaurant, two stores and a pharmacy next door and lobby staff friendly. Did not provide more than one electronic key and pillows at times were uncomfortable.

"comfortable but noisy"
staff and amenities were thoughtful. however the hotel is noisy at night. other guests noises come right into the room due to door not being sealed tight in the frame and tvs being put on the wrong walls for neighbors peace. staff in hall way talks loud at 6am. other than this the place and staff are real nice. shower pressure was great. various dim and bright lights in room were nice.

"Great location!"
The hotel is quite lovely and the staff is accommodating and friendly, always there to help you. Masha, a concierge, was amazing. 5 stars just for her! She always greeted me with a big smile and by name, got me tickets to the Ballet Folklorico (great seat, too!) gave me explicit directions, and basically took care of all my needs while in Mexico City. The breakfast in the Balcon Restaurant atop the hotel, was fresh and delicious, offering many selections. My room was spacious and comfortable, and most importantly, clean. Bottled water is refrigerated on each floor and provided in the room everyday.

"Excellent stay in Mexico City"
Our experience at this hotel was fantastic. The location was great. Lots of food and night life around, and walking distance to the Palacio de Belles Artes, National Palace, and other museums. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They had food and beverages available 24/7 and the breakfast was excellent. Would definitely stay here again if we are back in Mexico City.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Cuauhtemoc hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
