"Very nice hotel and a great location "
When we first arrived there was a wedding and 60th birthday party so there was NO PARKING, it was not a good way to arrive but luckily after that everything was great! Clean, updated, overall a great place! The room was huge and so comfortable! My only complaint was a lack of refrigerator in the room but that was a minor annoyance, also the pool was a little dirty but I'm also very uptight with public swimming areas. The staff was wonderful and overall it was a great experience!

Macdonald Kinsale Hotel & Spa

Rathmore Road, Kinsale - Map
"Super Location"
Large generous hotel and layout, wide corridors with rooms to match. Bright and cheerful decor everywhere. Excellent staff at every level we encountered. Our own room was very spacious, modern and bright with a glorious outlook toward Oysterhaven Bay and coast. Bed was massive, Bathroom large, modern and well lit. On close and perhaps over-critical inspection, some aspects of the room furnishings and decor showed the age of the hotel, but nontheless all was as well maintained as appeared possible. Perhaps the in room armchairs could do with replacing with something newer. Public areas were bright, reception area very impressive. Occupancy levels varied daily, not sure the restaurant and bar would cope spacewise with busy periods. Food was generally OK. although other than breakfasts we ate out every evening, so not able to comment fairly. Overall a far better experience than was anticipated after reading some reviews.

"Good for the price"
Arrived at hotel after long drive. Went to Mill restaurant to get a coffee and a sandwich. Server behind self service counter was frowning and refused to give me a bread roll. I complained to management, who apologized but the damage was done - really bad first impression. Walked to check-in area to find a sign saying that someone would be back in a moment. Ten minutes later someone check me in. Then I was told the elevator was out of order. Luckily, My room was on the second floor and I had only one bag. The room was acceptably clean and comfortable but needed some refurb. My window looked out on a scrap yard with skips full of waste. Luckily, I stayed on a Saturday night and there was no noise on Sunday morning. Get a room facing the front! Breakfast was included in my rate. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty. Overall, good value for money and fine for a short stay. The staff and management lack training and understanding of what good service really is. They rely solely on the cheery personality and genuine spirit of helpfulness of the Irish people.

"Great location and friendly staff!"
My daughter and I stayed at this hotel for one night in September 2016 as we were touring throughout Ireland. The room we had was reasonably priced, spotlessly clean, very spacious, and overlooked the waterfall in the courtyard. We had twin beds and fell asleep immediately as they were so comfortable. You were able to open the windows if you wished for some fresh air. The staff we met were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Our reason for selecting this hotel was that it was within walking distance (less than ten minutes) straight up from the railway station and only a ten minute walk to the city center. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant although it looked appealing. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Cork is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Cork, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Cork hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
