"Ideal location for a copper canyon excursion "
The hotel is located in a perfect setting, surrounded by nature and close proximity to many hiking/walking trails. The rooms were spacious, well maintained. The food was plentiful and tasty. The service from the kitchen, dining and bar staff is what kept this hotel in a higher rating. They were always ready to make the guest happy. The downside to this hotel is that the reception office is not always open. The store is open at times so be prepared to look for front desk help. The pool hours were unacceptable only open between 9am-5pm. On our arrival day we arrived during lunch hour (1-3) so we were invited to lunch, and then a walking tour. The waking tour was great, but by the time we came back to the hotel and we're thinking "what a great time to hit the pool" it had already closed. I expressed this to the owner and her response was "that is how I've run my hotel" many other guest also expressed the same thoughts on the pool. It's the only one in this area with a pool and with kids it was the reason why this hotel was selected on our trip.

"Affordable hotel close to Copper Canyon"
My husband and I stayed at Hotel Barrancas del Cobre for 2 nights while visiting Copper Canyon and riding El Chpe Tren. By the way, the Chepe train stop for this hotel is "Posada Barrancas" and NOT "Divisadero"...it's only a 5 min walk from the "Posada Barrancas" stop. We were very pleased with our visit. The price of this hotel is much lower than Hotel El Mirador, which is a ~15 walk uphill (but there's also transport if you don't feel like walking). Although this hotel doesn't have the view of the Mirador, it's a sister hotel & guests can use all the facilities of the Mirador, including the restaurant (which was great for breakfast but only so-so/overpriced for dinner) with a beautiful overlook of the canyon, the shops, and the nice walking tour around the area. The Hotel Barrancas del Cobre has more of a hostel feel, with an open area to play pool & guitar and to buy drinks. It was nice to socialize with people in the lobby. Also, there is a town nearby with a really cute/recommendable restaurant (~15 min walk), close to the small chapel/church. The hotel itself is a bit old, but it was comfortable, and the reason I give 5 stars is really because of Karla, the receptionist, who was SUPER helpful. She organized our tour to the nearby Adventure Park (highly recommendable!!), and she helped us to get cash for the bus, when there weren't any ATMs nearby. A few more tips: bring lots of cash, because there are no ATMs and very poor data/internet everywhere in this area.

"Very helpful stafff"
"Margarita" actually has two hotels that function in tandem. Both are fine, but the rooms in the one away from the plaza (where meals are served) are larger and more comfortable, as is the central courtyard around which the rooms are arranged. The staff was very helpful.

"Great Stay in Creel"
The staff was great and took care of us well. We were able to take advantage of a tour because they took extra effort to find one that fit our tight schedule. Also, they moved us to a different cabin that was smaller, but on the opposite side of the complex from a large school group. (Was really happy about this!) The cabin was in good shape overall, but a few small maintenance touches would help. Regardless, this did not take away from our stay. On top of that, the food at the on-site restaurant was good. Overall, a great trip and a place I would recommend to anyone!

"A little slice of heaven in a beautiful valley!"
We stayed at the Hotel Mision for one night during our Copper Canyon rail adventure. When we arrived at the Bahuichivo Station, the Hotel Mision Shuttle was waiting for us. Our bags were quickly loaded and we were off. We arrived at the Hotel Mision 30 minutes later. A staff member was waiting for us with delicious, complimentary margaritas. Our checkin process was swift and painless. Our room was perfect, clean and quiet. It can get chilly this time of year and there were plenty of extra blankets and firewood for the wood burning stove to keep us warm. Lunch was waiting for us and we immediately sat down to a delicious meal, starting with soup, pork chops and vegetables. After lunch, a staff member took us on a tour of the girls school and the nearby church, we were also treated to a stunning sunset. The nominally priced tour included a wine tasting of the La Mision wine. After the tour, we had time to explore on our own. Dinner was excellent and they allowed us to bring our own bottle of wine to the dinner. We went to bed that night feeling fully satisfied and well cared for. The next morning we enjoyed a full breakfast prior to heading off for the Overlook Tour. Unfortunately, when we arrived to the overlook, 45 minutes later, a huge cloud bank had engulfed the area, and there was nothing to be seen. The guide apologized profusely. Upon check out, we were surprised and delighted to learn that the Hotel did not charge us for the tour!

"Nice hotel Bed/Breakfast near city center"
We arrived very late past midnight. The place was very hard to find (apparently there are two hotels with very similar names with same owner). After we finally found it the only staff was the security who was unable to find out registration. We explained we made it only a few hours prior so he took our word for it and checked us in. In the morning he knocked on our door to make sure we didn't miss breakfast. Very nice gesture. The morning staff found our booking and everything was good. They have a great tour to the coooer canyon leaving at 9 am and other tours are available. All in all a great experience. We plan to go back.

"Nice room, walking distance to train station"
Simple but nice room, plenty of blankets provided along with a heater. Showers were hot, room was kept nice and tidy, walking distance from the train station and main street. We booked a tour with the hotel, the guide spoke some English and told us about the highlights we saw. We could really take our time, no pressure. Recommend!

Copper Canyon is calling — find the perfect hotel

Everyone wants to score a deal on travel, but price is just one factor to consider when booking an unforgettable hotel. Whether you’re visiting family, attending a conference or taking a well-earned vacation in Copper Canyon, having an awesome experience should be a no-brainer.

Hotwire will hook you up! From restful nights near your flight to that prime spot in the city’s heart, we’ve done our research to bring the best options to your fingertips. Book your Copper Canyon hotel with us now and start your next adventure.

You’re not the average traveler — and we know it

You’ve done your homework and know exactly where you want to go. We’re here to help with some Hotwire travel geek-approved tips on how to save on your booking.

    Get away for the weekend

Hotels in bigger cities usually charge higher rates during the week, when people are traveling for business. Weekends can be a bargain! It’s the other way around for vacation spots, so if you’re looking for a beach escape, consider a mid-week trip.

    Give yourself some wiggle room

If your plans are flexible, play around with some different travel dates – a shift of a few days either way can help you save big. Prices usually jump the weekends before and after popular holidays, so we recommend steering clear of them. Or consider visiting during the off-season, when prices are generally lower.

    Plan around big events

Are prices surprisingly high? There might be a huge conference or festival in town. Consider shifting your dates if you can. Of course, if that’s why you’re going, you’ll have to bite the bullet. We’ll still work to get you the best rates out there.

    Noodle over new adventures

Set aside time to plan what you want to see, taste and discover. Nothing completes a trip, big or small, like a few new experiences! Check city apps or area websites to find out what’s new and what events are happening during your stay. Even during a family reunion, you can detour to that locals-only fish taco stand or under-the-radar music club. Your cousins will be impressed.
